A bit touchy at times, and unforgiving of any criticism of Dempsey.

But a great addition to the forum.

    Wasn't he a great pal of @klompton2 , or could I be mistaken ?

    Ali
    Jones Jr
    Whitaker
    Duran
    Robinson

    Honorable Mentions

Pep (Just missed. A couple more prime fights would have helped.)
    Mayweather
Armstrong (Wish we had featherweight footage)
    Ray Leonard

    Need to See More Of...

Benny Leonard (He looked great in the one prime film we have)

Lomachenko - Extremely impressed. Just need to see him against a few more top guys and I'll feel more comfortable including him.

    They've had disagreements, not sure.

Hopefully Steve will post, his word would carry a lot of weight with me as he has seen more rare footage than probably anyone alive.

Speaking of which, what happened to Perry? He must have been in his late 90s as well and he hasn't been heard from for months now.

Another old timer was John Garland, who passed away a couple years ago.

I miss John and think about him at times. Same applies to some of our other older in age posters who no longer post here.

There's definitely something special and electric being able to talk to people that were there, and I guess that says it about as articulately as you can.

I had a coworker that was very old and I used to ask him about some of the great boxers. Every time I ask him who the best was he would say KID GAVILAN! He would have the biggest smile on his face when he said it. The Kid made a helluva impression on the early `50s TV fights. It was cool.
