Speaking of which, what happened to Perry? He must have been in his late 90s as well and he hasn't been heard from for months now.

 

Another old timer was John Garland, who passed away a couple years ago.

I miss John and think about him at times. Same applies to some of our other older in age posters who no longer post here.

 

Its our connection to the great fighters of the past.

 

There's definitely something special and electric being able to talk to people that were there, and I guess that says it about as articulately as you can.

 

I had a coworker that was very old and I used to ask him about some of the great boxers. Every time I ask him who the best was he would say KID GAVILAN! He would have the biggest smile on his face when he said it. The Kid made a helluva impression on the early `50s TV fights. It was cool.
