I love it! it would be nice had Terry hadnt come along to prove your axiom false

let's try my axiom which says

"Terry was slick, quick, and made Ray Leonard sick!"

great! you got one of Leonard starching him?

    no?

    that's b/c that is jackson's strength, not Leonard's

ironically, it was in this fight I pegged Norris as having a brilliant future and judging from this bout, showed brilliance; that he was the real thing. Terry had the perfect style to whip leonard

and guess what? I was right! like yourself, he was fooled by the "Terry Norris cant take a shot" premise

Ray went for the bait and signed for the fight, but found out in real life, starching Terry is harder than it looks. Instead of breaking Terry's chin, and will, it was Terry who showed the boxing world how had the better chin (Terry show cased to the world Ray's crystalline chin) and made Ray look like a fray leonard impersonator

too bad Ray couldnt duplicate what Jackson achieved

which only proves my point; Ray does poorly against movers

Terry got them at the time
When Ray,Meldrick,Don and John were all past prime.
Its important that we state that several were coming up in weight.
Terry's star was certainly a shiner ,but his chin was pure Dresden China!

    aww, still crying are we?

all I see is sheer undiluted handspeed

and Ray's chin crumbling before it

Bet you wish you had a video like mine! here is just a small sample of Terry's most flawless performance as Terry was quite close to perfection

Interesting Terry was always looking at the lower weights for challenges. Meldrick Taylor, Chavez, Whitaker. He fought Simon Brown moving up. Donald Curry. He never did move up and test himself at Middleweight. At least during the meat of his career. He could have there were names there.

I just see Norris doing his usual, beating up an old, past it fighter.

Here we see 30 years old Norris being stopped by journeyman
    Keith Mullings.

Here we see the average Laurent Boudouani stopping a 31 years old Norris.

Well there you go. He's a helluva lot younger than SRL was when he fought Norris. Fancy that.

"In January 1990, Leonard relinquished the WBC Super Middleweight Championship, saying that he was unsure whether he would fight again. When Leonard decided to continue his career, he offered Hagler a rematch, but Hagler decided to stay retired. He then offered Hearns a third fight, but Hearns said he could no longer make the weight and moved up to the light heavyweight division.

    Leonard v Norris]
On February 9, 1991, Leonard went down to 154 lbs and fought WBC Light Middleweight Champion Terry Norris at Madison Square Garden. Leonard entered the bout as a 3-1 favorite but Norris dominated the fight, giving Leonard a heavy beating. He knocked Leonard down with a left hook in the second round, and in the seventh, he dropped Leonard again with a short right. Leonard had no answer for the skillful, younger, faster man. Leonard went the distance but lost by a lopsided decision. The scores were 120–104, 119–103, and 116–110. After the verdict was announced, Leonard announced his retirement. "It took this fight to show me it is no longer my time", Leonard said. "Tonight was my last fight. I know how Hagler felt now."

younger but with his experience, and being the prohibitive favorite, you know deep down, Sugar really should have won easy. it's like they say, Sugar just cant take on the youngens and win (personally, i dont think Ray coud have handled Pryor or Nunn either)

which is why you are still pouting b/c you dont have boasting rights. but you do quite a job at covering up. no matter what you do, it still eats at you b/c he cant claim total victory. and then there's the KO loss to Hector, another speedster (albeit another washed up icon)

    Here's a thought tho....

can u imagine the level of bragging that would go on if Leonard HAD triumped over Norris? as it is, you people act like he won after a thorough butt whipping

Me, I like to keep my boasting down, and if you had a video like mine you too would sing with impunity the following: "Oh Yeah!.... Oh Yeah!... Oh! Oh! Oh!"

Leonard really should have stayed retired after the Hagler fight but being a competitor and elite athlete, took a few more risks, which in your 30s, is indeed risky. at least he didnt end up like Ali, or worse, benitez

Norris had Parkinsons and was already experiencing symptoms while still being an active fighter at the end of his career. I would definitely not hold those losses against him.
