    if the Linares fight doesn't happen how would you feel if Lomachenko vs Gamboa was announced? at least them he'd have a decent opponent in common with Bud
    and my guess is Loma - Bud will end up becoming the new May - Pac in terms of a lot of talk but years in the making

    No, not happening now. They could have squeezed him in as a February fight (before moving up) but now it's too late.

    agreed the Linares fight needs to be made, was only thinking of a realistic Arum plan b if it doesn't

    I hope TR has a plan B,C,D ect. ect. to keep that may 12 date if/when GBP sabotages the Linares fight. Hate to see cocaine Oscar be responsible for stalling Loma's career.

    This. Gamboa has been ruined for 3-4 years. Gamboa after 2011 stopped fighting regularly, which resulted in his skills quickly declining.

    when Yorky first hit the big stage, he had all the tools to be a p4p talent.
    MOF, when he arced, he was a top 10ish.
    He was going to be a ppv attraction....a slick AF, quick hands, great footwork and a killer instinct to go along with the power.
    Tysons venture into promotions had no ceiling. His stable was tight, good variety of fighters, and getting them on the screen (piggy backing on the big 3s cable series.)
    Tysons presence aided attendance, gave his guys confidence and the understanding that this could be a great trip.


    Idk what the fukk happened, but Gamboa didn't jump ship fast enough.
    His inactivity and his poor decision to go right after the top guy after such a slow 3 yrs....

    It's a sad story really. I imagined he was going to be atop 126-135 til he hung em up.

    His name is still a CV builder, but if Yorky was wise, hed take a couple fights to regain his swagger.... actually give a good account and challenge.

    I'd expect him to fight Easter if no Linares. Gamboa shouldn't have gotten the nod over a guy Loma just beat.
