Fighters who had good careers after being knocked out multiple times?

Only including actual ten-count kos or tkos where the fighter clearly wasn't going to be able to make it to his feet by the count of ten. Not sure what to do about scenarios like Lewis-McCall or Wlad-Brewster, where both men were standing upright but on shaky legs when their fights were waved off.

Oleg Maskaev. No one could believe he will come back after being KO'd cold 2 times in a row, in 4 rounds by Kirk Johnson and in 2 rounds by Lance Whitaker. In fact, everyone thought his career is over. Both KOs were brutal.

Yet 4 years later Maskaev came back and won WBC HW title when he knocked out Hasim Rahman for the 2nd time. Oleg was 37 at that time.

Howdy Kev, Tony Mundine sr, Jorge Linares and Amir Khan all went on to have some success despite being kayoed @ least twice in the early to mid period of their careers.

Mundine fought for the world middleweight championship vs Monzon despite being kayoed by Kahu Mahunga & Luis Rodriguez.

Despite being kayoed by Breidis Prescott and Danny Garcia Khan still managed to get a shot against Canelo.

Linares was kayoed 3 times in six fights between 2009 and 2012 but has know rebounded to have a successful career.

I do know that the great Hammerin' Henry Armstrong was kayoed in his first fight.

Following his devastating 3rd round TKO by Ingo in 1959 many were writing off Floyd Patterson. Still more were writing him off following his back-to-back first round KO losses to Liston. Yet Floyd kept coming back, and had a better career after losing the title. Even when past his best he was still posting good wins and at the time of his last fight in 1972 Ring Magazine had him rated as the #3 contender, behind Champion Joe Frazier and Ali and Foreman.

 

Tippy Larkin had a great career despite being ko'd, stopped multiple times.

He sure did...and he did pretty darned good afterwards, didn't he?

 

Eusebio Pedroza was stopped three times...by Perez, Arnal, and devastatingly enough by Zamora, yet went on to an improbably great featherweight title reign.

 

Floyd Patterson was glass chinned but seemed to get better in many ways after his knock outs

Manny Pacquiao got caught a few times

Hearns won champion belts after his losses

Cotto did well after the KO he suffered from plaster hands Margarito.

 

Mike Weaver was stopped several times before his transformation into a world-class heavyweight.

Charles Brewer suffered back-to-back knockout losses to Lonnie Beasley and Rafael Williams, before going on a successful run at 168. While the stoppages were "technically" TKOs, they were both bad one-punch losses where he barely made the 10 count and was far too wobbly to be considered "upright".

Roger Mayweather's title run at 140 came after 3 stoppage losses against Lockridge, Chavez and Pendleton. The Pendleton KO in particular was pretty brutal.

 

Good shout. Throw in the inexplicable early career sacrifice against McCall and the brutal loss at the hands of Corey "don't call me Corrie" Sanders. The Tua stoppage was probably a bit premature, but he still took some big punches. There can't be too many titlists in the modern era with 5 stoppage losses before they won their first belt.

IIRC KO Magazine selected him after the Sanders loss in their regular feature of fighters on the downward slope, which was generally an indication that a fighter was finished at the top level.
