Great to see a fight dividing opinion so much - and getting people talking Let's face it - a huge part of that is the antics of Jr and Snr - we can all slate them but they get people talking. They have had a plan and stuck to it. Now he's in the limelight in a huge fight... Not a confident pick but I think Groves wins it. If he was still under Booth I would be more confident but think his size is the key
It is sad for Boxing that this fight is hidden away on ITV PPV and will be watched by a tiny % age of the British public. Both are already millionaires so are not short of wonga. Pity this is not on ITV as Boxing would have had great exposure with this fight possibly winning over millions of new boxing fans. Sports stars are nearly all grubs and all they really care about is £££££££££££s
They've stepped up the advertising on this, you can even buy it on the Playstation app store...I can see a lot of people watching it. Could have done a bit more on terrestrial in the build up though...
never knew this .... thats a great idea to be fair. the more platforms it is available on the better.
Yes but hard to justify when both have already earned more than they can spend in 10 George Best lifetimes .
Anyone read this? http://www.boxingnewsonline.net/ada...only-one-occasion-when-one-was-slightly-hurt/ Talks about Groves buzzing him in sparring, also says Eubank got the better of Cleverley and Groves in spars before. I think Jr's style is suited to spars though as he is less likely to be stung going forward with the big gloves.
If someone offered you to do a job for 1 million quid, and scene else offers you 5 million to do the exact same thing, which are you gonna choose? It's their job, it's their future, it's their kids future, and their kids future. The fighters are not the ones to be blamed for accepting more money
Anyone else read the Booth interview from yesterday wherein he says only one fighter was hurt in the CEJ/GG sparring sessions and that was Junior from a left hook? That right hand cannon of Groves is laying Lil Chris out cold.
Valid point and would have to look at market rules for each bookies. I would like to think the draw is paid if the primary three judges score the fight a draw.
Both fighters wanted this on PPV and Chris Eubank Snr in particular insisted that this fight was ITV Boxth Office as he wanted PPV to ensure his son earns the besth money. Just a shame that the fight will now be watched legally by a tiny % age of the British Public again when millions of new fans could have been won over on ITV.
The Bookmakers will settle as a draw although one can argue that it is not a draw as the Bookmaker's rules do not cover the rules of this tournament. The markets should really be priced up without the draw as both fighters will leave the ring as a winner or loser.
I understand your point mate but still think these two multi millionaire sports stars will never be short of money. Cannot see any justification for this being PPV when the Cruiserweight Fights were not. They know there is a % age of UK mugs out there to be fleeced and boy are they being rogered with all these PPVs.
Groves either wins it or loses it. All depends what GG turns up, I just can't see eubank winning, he looks amazing on the Instagram videos, but the bags don't hit back do they
