Could Hasim Rahman have ripped the title from Frazier?

Instead of facing Ron Stander ,Joe Instead takes on the lightly regarded Rahman .He's seen as a capable but limited challenge ..so what's the result .pre Lewis version here .

No. Frazier would have beaten Rahman to a pulp. TKO 10

No. Rahman has the power to really hurt him, but he mostly relied on the straight right, which Frazier wasn't really vulnerable to.

Rahman had a big punch, but wasn't a skilled punch placer, didn't throw in combinations routinely, and had some durability and defense issues. Not a good style match up for Hasim.

Rahman would be the underdog but he has the size, power, and perhaps just enough of a back foot game to give Frazier problems. Depends whether Rahman would be able to land his best punches on a bobbing-and-weaving-but-still-hittable Frazier. I know it's sacrilege to give a mere mortal like Rahman even a remote shot against an ATG Golden Age Heavyweight, but I think it would be a very interesting matchup while it lasts.

Whilst I've a ton of respect for Joe , I'm of the opinion that any heavy can beat another ..no matter what the name is .
A reputation or legendary name doesn't stop a Punch .

Joe Frazier is the most disrespected of all the greats. This matchup is an insult to him. Frazier destroys Rachman inside of 6. Rachman was a bum who got lucky one night against a totally outta shape Lewis who got way too cocky and looked past him. Lewis showed in the rematch how scrubby Rock was.

I repeat, Joe Frazier gets no respect. This is a mismatch.

I think Rahman would present problems due to his jab and being really strong physically. Did okay against Tua, blah blah blah. He'd probably fold eventually though.

Rahman beat another all time great in Lewis so I give him a shot. Joe Frazier is there to be hit.
I believe Joe Frazier could and would take anything Rahman can dish out. He' gonna slip and roll too. I can see it going late perhaps a late stoppage for Frazier or a decision.

Ron Stander got his butt kicked by a slipping Joe. In 4 rounds Smokey put his face through a meat grinder. It was brutal. Rahman had more talent he would do better.

I hear ya man but gotta disagree about being the most disrespected. Scroll some Rocky Marciano threads. He is either unbeatable and he would back up a Silverback Gorilla. Or he brings nothing to the table at all. A bum who won the belt in a card game. He had no ability as a fighter at all. Both are fictional Marciano and don't honor the truth.

You have to favour Frazier on pedigree but in real life Rahman was a scary dude with some serious power. I'd give Rahman a decent chance at the upset.
