I find it funny how you blokes can all see something that I don't think even happened.

Groves went in to the presser planning on not engaging and then ended up stuttering all over the place and lost the plot and started biting, caught hook, line and sinker!!!!

Groves did look in excellent shape and his timing was excellent on the pads.

I actually agree he does look to be in the form of his life.

I would advise cej to box on the run for the first six. I've NOT engage while groves is fresh and strong. Then attack later when as groves will be lessdangerous

It would be foolish of the smaller man and lighter puncher to slug from the start. Cej must BOX on the run early and let groves tire a bit...then SLUG late on....that would be my advice anyway.

I think it would be foolish of Jr not to put it on him from the start, Groves will not fade if he fights at his own pace.
Jr has to force Groves to fight at a pace that will fatigue him.

Groves is an elite fighter, people talking of a poor gas tank are being a little delusional if you ask me.
Groves has a good gas tank, Jr is just superior in this department.

No fighter around his weight can fight @ his out put.

I feel it's possible to tire a man out WITHOUT engaging....like Ali used to do. Ie make him move a lot and miss a lot...draw him out get him to throw and miss...throw and miss etc etc
You can fight at a high tempo without necessarily slugging it out.

Slugging from the start against a bigger man and a heavier puncher is a very very risky strategy for a smaller lighter-punching boxer.

The only thing Ill say is eubank when he gets them hands going is hard to match. Groves is quicker with the single shot. Eubank is quicker with the combination punching tho. I m not sure he slugs it out. He more throws with abandon and sees what he gets out of it. Groves will be the one that will avoid the slugging...if your groves you,ve got to box him from the start even being the bigger man. You won't match eubank at the combination punching.

The question is does groves tank hold up over the twelve. I m not so sure. He does flounder...it's just that hes not been in with too many that will capitalize on it. His power/effectiveness drops.

He might get it done earlyish. But itll be more of him rendering eubank ineffective much the same as he done cox. The pull back body shot he throws...is the shot to discourage eubank. Perfect shot for it. Jab. One two. Pull back body shot should win him the fight. If he starts hooking with eubank tho...he,ll come off the worse of the two even at the heavier weight.

Groves needs a stoppage to win this. JR will set a fast pace, and has a better engine. Theres always a chance that JR gets stopped. And I hope he does, but JR will win this by UD or late TKO for me..

Just watched the presser, where does Groves stutter all over the place & lose the plot? He looked very laid back & didn’t rise to any nonsense that Junior was coming out with it. Junior on the other hand seemed desperate to prove a point.

I keep hearing about Jr's speed and it's true Jr is very quick but Groves has great timing, there is the old saying "timing beats speed".

I didn't see Groves stutter or lose the plot.

Jr came across as rather immature, like a child who keeps saying "I know you are but what am I" LOL

Jr wanted to argue over silly little things and he just repeated the same old rubbish he always does about sparring sessions.

Of course Groves should respect Jr's best assets, every fighter should respect every opponent.

In my opinion Jr has more things to concern himself with than Groves does.
