“The doubters, the naysayers, the keyboard warriors”....he’s said this a few times now. He’s really bothered about what anonymous people say. He’s massively insecure. Wanting to know where he ranks in terms of George’s opponents. He reminds me of Bellew with Haye. He craves validation.

Senior thinks he’s done a great job moulding this self-reliant ‘warrior’, who doesn’t need training, who listens to nobody.

Groves is well on to him about the dad. He’s hit a huge nerve with him.

Groves looks a bit like DeGale did in the build up to Truax to me. Uncomfortable, not really wanting to be there. I remember George loving the moment but that just doesn't seem to be the case this time.

I thought George seemed uncomfortable in the presser but not sure if it's fear OR he's learnt from the Froch fights to not get embroiled in a war of words as ultimately it did him no favours in those fights.

Can't wait for Saturday keep changing my mind on who will win but I am sure it will be a great fight. Really good insight from Andy Lee so will go with Groves on points.

Will be interesting how this he doesn't need training works out for him. I don't think its a case of he doesn't need training. Its more a case of he dictates the training. The thing is it could work with someone like eubank who,s pretty relentless with it. Looks like its allowing him to train harder. He's not really set limits. Its more of an accumulation of the same stuff. Like the machines hes got where he throws thousands of punches on them. I m interested to see what repetition can do against a guy that's working to gameplan...set training etc in groves. So far its worked out for eubank imo. Got one of the best engines in the game etc. For me this will find out if its allowed him to excel if he can get the win against groves. Who will probably be almost a stone heavier than him cone fight night.

If he wins do we start to think maybe they,be been doing it right from the start? Who knows. Saturday night should tell us a lot more about eubank. I don' think its a case of hes a fraud if he does lose giving the weight. More a case of its not as effective as they believe it to be.

I’m not sure whether it’s insecurity. Both Eubanks are not interested in being popular, they participate in the theatre and melodrama of it all. I’m not particularly a fan, but I sure as hell tune in to see the latest thing they’ve done or said. Sparking up that interest is what makes you a larger than life personality, the pay days and fast track to the big fights.

I agree that they don’t necessarily feel the need to be liked, but they absolutely crave an audience and attention.

Which in turn brings the money so who can blame them? If the Eubanks do pull this off, it's a massive two fingers to both Warren and Hearn who have tried to rubbish them really.

Watching the presser now. Here is what I see. Junior is overconfident and for the first time seems a real arse to me. His arrogance might become his downfall, or not.
George isn't uncomfortable but shows more nerves than the impertinent Eubank git. (I can't stand people like Eubank in general, also without seeing this presser). George's nerves will play in his favour. He wants this win at least as much as Junior.

I think Groves has now learned to pace himself better and not load up constantly like he did in the first Froch fight. He uses his power more effectively with better accuracy.

I'd probably still tip Badou Jack to beat him if he was still at super middle or anyone with good timing. I think Callum will beat him if he gets past Braehmer. Smith is a big puncher, rangy with good conventional boxing skills even though he may get a bad rep because of his trainer.

I agree with Groves saying Eubank Jr is an easier fight than Jack, DeGale and Froch on paper. I hope Eubank doesn't confuse timing with speed as that can be his undoing. Jack's timing, feints and conventional boxing beat a poor Groves that night. Jr i don't believe can do the same but he can make it an ugly fight and try to be more ''Hopkinsesque'' even with his lesser boxing skills. It'll be hard given Groves is naturally a bit bigger.

In the Jack fight you could literally see Groves loading up and his punches weren't crisp. You could see Jack just timing him with straighter punches. That's from the training at the Mayweather gym.

Groves's best work is to the body and his jab is decent. His timing to me is his weakness because he loads up and his hands down low approach at times like DeGale lets him down at the elite level. I think maybe he's ironed out some mistakes with his new trainer.

I see Groves winning but to me he still has a vulnerability factor. I think his power is elite and that should get him the win here. His skills are a few of shades below Kessler, Calzaghe and many of the older legends. His timing is average, his footwork leaves much to be desired, and his herky jerky hands low approach to unload punches can be negative as he wears down. His timing is still good enough to catch Eubank. Eubank makes a lot of mistakes and he relies on getting in and out which is gonna be very difficult without getting hit vs Groves. I think Cox showed that he can make Groves hang on the ropes but Cox has a low ring IQ, much smaller and didn't have a proper strategy other than bum rushing Groves early. Fedor Chudinov was giving Groves some issues where Groves looked a tad vulnerable but his jab and his mostly his power got him out of jail.

I don't think Groves is THAT special but he's elite in this current crop of super middleweights.

I think Callum Smith will win the tournament.

Laugh and half you are twenty, Jr just exudes confidence, maybe he is over confident but how do you come to the conclusion he is insecure?

I can't remember Jr asking George where he ranks? Pretty sure it was someone else tbh!

All Jr said was it is good to know Groves ranks him so low he's either deluded or being a fraud. Either way it is going to get him in trouble.

Seeing how Jr was so pathetic according to the majority of hardcore boxing geniuses here, if he beats Groves should Jr be trainer of the year?

Ffs he must have come a long way

I don't think Degales heart is really in it anymore. George on the other hand seems distant, a little confused, maybe a little punchy

I've never liked Groves since the first froch fight. After that fight groves seemed to attract the worst fanbase in british boxing and i love it when froch cobra'd him.

I think Eubank will beat the living daylights out of him, groves is mentally weak and his body has never recovered from the beating froch put on him.
