Oscar as a promoter is a cancer to boxing

Agree with every word of this. Being a former fighter, I thought naively, he would be more on the level than most promoters

 

I had high hopes for him as a promoter. I didn't care for the ****** too much as an active fighter, that wasn't hidden. But when he said he wanted to change the sport for the better, to make it better for fighters, for a sec I believed him. But in reality, he's no different than any other promoter.

 

What's that about mate??

 

Never trusted him when he was a fighter....yes he was great and achieved great things but he's always been a snake and his smile and demeanour is so false it's unbelievable.

 

That instant smile that he flashes then drops in an instant, followed by snake eyes scanning around as soon as its dropped says everything

 

As King and Arum were before him

Given than Oscar was such a brave take on all comers in the ring, does it not strike you as weird that he would suddenly become the polar opposite of what he wanted to bring to fans?

Given what he was prepared to do in the ring, and he doesnt need the money, there's probably far more to it than meets the eye

 

Oscar is also a pervasive bigot who overwhelmingly/only promotes Latino boxers which at the very least is hiring discrimination. Also during his fighting career he made several antisemtic comment about Bob Arum.

 

Maybe he knows his fighters will take Ls in tough fights.
Let’s not forget that Oscars tremendous popularity allowed him to take Ls more so than in the current environment where an L is considered a much bigger setback

 

He's settled out of court at least three times on **** allegations. At least one was quite the under age minor.

 

No, gotta disagree. Oscar is POS, but that's not discrimination. He doesn't hire fighters, he promotes them.

There was a poster on here years ago who hated Oscars guys and constantly bashed him the story goes; he had a 12 year old daughter who asked oscar for an autograph and the P.O.S supposedly said no to her request because she was not old enough for him to "F word" her.

 

I think a part of the problem with Oscar is that he had the ability to actually make a change, for the better. He had a ton of influence and power, had a network basically spooning him and his promotions.

But instead, he's just become another two-faced promoter.
