Depending on how he looks in the process. Beltran has faced a lot of good boxers....It will be interesting to see if Loma can dominate Beltran better than Crawford or on par? Crawford got a ton of credit for beating Beltran in a completely one sided fight. So if Loma can do it moving up in weight it will be a big feather in his cap.

If after the fight he can’t get one of the other 135 champions to fight then he will need to move up again. Linares seems to want the fight but Golden Boy seems to be blocking the bout with Loma. Easter/Loma would be a good fight on paper, but it won’t garner him the kind of credit beating Mikey would. Neither would Linares so Loma will need to press for the Mikey Garcia fight.....most likely Mikey isn’t coming back down to 135 unless he loses to Lipinets.

It would be nice if all champions did that....but that’s the problem with so many titles in the sport. The champions stay in these silos a lot of the time and evade the fights with other champions who pose real threats. Crawford did it after Hopkins did it a decade ago....but he had to move up to 140 in order to unify. He didn’t do it at 135 where he won his first title.

Now that Linares seems to be dead in the water due to his promoters blocking the fight, Loma should call Berchelt’s bluff? He recently said he wants the fight. Grant it, not many really care about that fight as they see it as s mismatch but it would be great to witness Loma attempt to unify at 130....it would just take a lot of time because Machado isn’t ready, Davis isn’t ready and Ogawa hasn’t peeped Loma’s name....he may not even have the title too much longer since he tested dirty.

After Loma NoMased Rigo, Crawford was SHOOK. Crawford went life and death with gatekeeper Beltran. After Loma NoMases Beltran, Crawford will be DOUBLY SHOOK! Crawford might have to be put on SUICIDE WATCH.

The irony is that Beltran is a long time sparring partner of Pac's. Beltran describes the sparring as hellish.

Oh yeah. Forgot about that. Beltran comes off as a good guy in interviews. But he’s never had the star power to get breaks from judges like other fighters do.

That would turn the forum upside down. Look man it's one thing for an unknown, non rated fighter to come out of nowhere to beat a smaller, faded legend. That happens in boxing. But to do it against arguably the best fighter in the sport at the moment? We don't often see that. It's not exactly Douglas Tyson. But it's approaching that level. There is no reason for Crawford to lose to Horn.

Loma is smart to avoid Berchelt

Well Berchelt is the 2nd best 130 pounder in the world. Not many care to see that fight because it's a mismatch? Well that seems odd because that basically means there isn't anybody alive in Loma's weight class who could push him past a warm up. And 130 isn't a wasteland, it's not the strongest division out there, but it's no 140 or 168.
