I think the greatest dangers are blind judges or a corrupt referee that stops a fight that shouldn't be stopped. I reckon Groves & Co know how to make weight and retain his energy levels.

I dunno. He's getting older and you can't stop the body from gaining weight. Plus he has never had to face a guy with cejs workrate....not even his best opponents were in the output league of Eubank. He might come unstuck if this goes long.

lencoreastside, did you see the boxing science article breakdown of Groves and Eubank, it broke down punches thrown, success % and their work rate during different round groupings against there respective opponents. There was virtually nothing in it and it showed Groves was very active still in the later rounds. Can link you if you haven't seen it.

No I missed that ....please do link it 4 me kojak.
I feel cej will be like a cross between the Duracell bunny and an airplane propeller in there. If groves can't ko him...prob within the first six..( and I doubt he can) ..then Eubank might literally drown groves in a blizzard of punches.....

There's a post here somewhere with links to a site where they have all the stats for GG's and Junior's last three fights. Both fighters have a very similar work rate I.e. numbers of punches. It's a myth that junior punches much more than groves.

And Junior's highest work rate was against Abraham, a walking punch bag.

Only saw your post now. That's exactly what I read, just no time to look for the links, as at work.
Eubanks flurries and training clips have people fooled.

EDIT: Ah! Cheers for the links. I enjoyed the read too.

Looking at the weigh in Groves is obviously the bigger man and can punch. Can’t see Jr out boxing Groves. I think Groves will stop him in the 9/10/th.

I’ve been back and forth between the two. Earlier this week I finally settled on Groves. After the press conference and weigh in I can’t help but think young Christopher may be in his head?

This is the first time as far as I can remember I genuinely don’t know who will win. Even in the past I may have been wrong and thought that X May beat Y and Y has won, with this I can’t even pick one to be wrong!

I have never changed my opinion for this fight. Usually the closer the fight gets the less certain I get but I'm getting more confident for this one. I think Groves will stop him. I don't buy the thought that Groves will tire more in the second half of the fight. Eubank will want to take his walks around the ring and pretend showboating but it's whether GG lets him. Being wrestled and punched off a heavier man will take it out of him more than any of Eubank's previous opponents have. Then when you add on the heavy shots to the head and body, Eubank will be getting tired.

I believe if Groves lands something big early on Eubank won't like it and his only chance of winning (a big combo on a sloppy looking Groves) will be all the less likely as Eubank won't want to jump in from out of range with his chin in the air.

Eubank really does want to win this though, so as it gets later he'll throw caution to the wind and that's when I think he'll get ko'd with a counter.

The Major Arfan Iqbal was supposed to box Simon Vallily which would have been good but Iqbal pulled out yesterday with an ankle injury.

    Walsh-Lowe is interesting.
