Eubank will never be an elite fighter. Retire now or just carry on fighting bums like yildirim

Seems pretty normal to be more tired in the latter rounds than you are in the early rounds. Groves has gone the distance multiple times now and has managed to win many of the latter rounds in his fights. Groves stamina issues are over stated. His performance in the latter parts of fights is decent. He doesn't have Calzaghe/Froch/Eubank Jr stamina but it's it's really not too bad.

People put too much emphasis on stamina anyway. This fight is a prime example, people thought Jr would win based primarily on stamina. It's just one of many components of a fight/fighter.

Froch is an elite level ATG, so what, Jack has clearly proven to be a hell of a fighter, and quite frankly their match was a draw IMO. Yeah the division isn't all that great, but Groves is head and shoulders the king of it, he deserves respect, not butthurtt ridicule.

Groves won the fight, Prince Nas won the event. Greatest post fight ever.

He was very competitive with Froch and Jack. What does that tell you?

    Plus he's still learning.

"butthurt ridicule"? Why would i be angry that a fellow Brit is top of another division? I just say what i see, Groves is for me the best of a bad bunch.

Jr's greatest asset is the part of his name between Chris and Jr. He will never reach the level of his Dad who was a great but he will get more opportunities than most.

I dislike the politics that don't give more talented fighters opportunities to succeed because of a name or some irrelevant attribute.

Pretty much this, Groves had amazing discipline and also used his experience/smarts to school Jr.

Just got back from this fight. I thought Groves won, but I thought the cards would of been closer than they were. A lot of close rounds imo. I am hoping to watch it back to see if I score it as wide as the judges.

Also met Bradley Skeete there tonight. Top guy.

No having a go here but imo Froch and Groves are quite similar. Both have been at times (imo) under rated, been written off by many and had to fight their way up the hard way. Had some wins, some losses and some close fights. Their fights against each other were competitive and Froch was much more experienced at the time. Give Groves a chance. He's already had a good career and lets see what else he can achieve.

Groves was unlucky against Froch - 99% of fighters wouldn't have got up from that shot he dropped Froch with in the first fight and the stoppage was controversial. And the shot that Froch sparked Groves with in the rematch (I had Groves ahead in that one too) would've laid an elephant out cold.

I've only seen Groves vs Jack once but I distinctly remember feeling it was mighty close. Fact is Groves has been mighty competitive and acquitted himself extremely well even in his loses.

Jack said Groves gave him his hardest fight and no one came as close as Groves to stopping the iron-jawed Froch.

And don't forget that Groves victim Cox sparked Badou Jack in the gym. I have Cox ranked at #2 at SMW and #3 at LHW in my rankings.

    Groves holds WAY TOO MUCH.

HBO once did a count of the clinches initiated by John Ruiz in, I believe, his third fight with Holyfield. Groves had to have blown that away.

If someone counted the clinches he initiated, I bet it would top out at 500 or more for the fight. Any time Eubank got within a foot of him he was grabbing for dear life.

He has good head movement. The constant clinching isn't necessary.

Eubank smothered a lot of his shots early, but by the fourth round or so he was forcing the action and Groves was just killing all the exchanges with holding.

Had the ref taken a point or two away from Grove early on, it may have been a more entertaining fight. (And the final rounds were still good.)

I'm not going to argue that Eubank deserved the nod or anything. But Eubank made the fight. Every time they started letting go and doing some good trading, Groves would tie him up.

Groves HELD WAY TOO MUCH. Should've been deducted points. The ref talked to him throughout the second half of the fight, but he (the ref) never did anything to stop the holding.

Took away from what could've been a real action fight.

It was clear his should went out of the socket in the final round. But the British announcers seemed oblivious to it.
