Needs a trainer. I'm not so sure he should move back down to MW. Think he should just see what fights he can get at either division and then choose the best money option.
Eubank is not good enough at MW or SMW. He should get rid of dad and get a trainer who you listen too Groves is World Class and if he is fir then him versus Smith will be a classic.
Groves: sort the shoulder and go for the win in the tourno. Eubank: get the Truax Degale winner if possible, after a tune up. Stop being so stubborn, wild and listen to a trainer.
Groves- A few more defences and retirement. Looks dead at the weight at SMW and would not cope at LHW. Eubank- Build the hype back up, by avoiding boxers and targetting plodders. Earn a good wedge. Desperately needs to dismiss his dad and hire a professional trainer, if he wants to ever step up to the next level and not lose. I think he is too arrogant to ever think he needs a professional boxing coach.
Needs a proper trainer - maybe humble himself and go back with Booth. Adam trains his cousin so he probably would take him back under the right conditions
Eubank can still be involved in a lot of good fights, just going to be hard due to get them without a tune up or two first, because of how he and his dad built him up for this fight. He's still entertaining and he has no quit in him (as I expected), think goal has always been for them to make as much money as possible and I don't think that'll change.
I believe Groves will just move on to the final, if the injury is bad and he can't then he'll fight the winner at some point. Jr has some tough decisions to make, once he sits down and watches that back he will have to come to his senses. It wasn't close and it wasn't good from him. Jr needs to sack Sr and Ronnie Davies and move to a trainer who will actually command respect and drill him. FFS Jr is 30 minutes from a huge fight and he is doing his own wraps, let a trainer do them and get mentally ready because he looked lost for about 8-9 rounds, so something is going wrong for him early in fights, he isn't switched on and ready to go, he looked bone dry before the first bell. Everything about his camp/corner is wrong in my opinion, he needs a strong figure to take charge and tell him what to do. As for future fights, get back down to Middleweight, he isn't a SMW and I believe it showed tonight, maybe try and get a Jacobs fight, if he can somehow win that then he is in line for GGG or Canelo. Or Lemieux is a good fight for him and a good fight for the fans, it will be a fight and Jr likes fights. Win that and he might be in line for BJS, GGG or Canelo, he basically needs a good win, a win that makes people take notice and believe him in again because right now his stock has plummeted.
I agree with a lot of what you say, but some points seem worth raising: If Groves can't compete in the final then does it not render the whole tournament futile? Surely the date has to wait for him. He has the belts, is the man. Who would step in as a back up; it can't be Eubank as he was beaten, and it can't be anybody that hasn't been a part of it from the start. A risk always with tournaments, but Groves has to be in the final for it to have any validity. I hope Eubank is wise and grounded enough to realise his mistakes and need for a trainer. Agree that his camp and corner are really wrong, but you can't sack your dad, just tell him to fu... leave you alone. Unsure if middleweight is where he should be, and I can't see him outboxing the likes of Canelo at all. Lemieux may be a good option, and would have some spice and flair to it after what he said regarding the BJS fight against Lem. It'd also give him a chance to show he can box and not just provide a flurry of punches, against a puncher. I also disagree his stock has plummeted, as the fight gave him good attention and a platform, and he wasn't destroyed or anything. Has time to come back, has never been KO'd, is well known. Not the best night for him, but could be a huge learning curve and change of attitude and approach!
Eubank needs a trainer to teach him the damn basics. Right now all he has is natural ability unrefined. Groves beat up callum smith and then retire cos he will get destroyed by the elite still
For Groves simply finish the tourney then fight whoever is the best option at the the time (IBF champ, GGG, etc). Eubank, move back down to MW. He's not good enough to fight guys with an added weight disadvantage. It's all good when you're Mayweather or Pacquiao but Jr ain't that. Also get the best trainer he can and put as much effort into learning from them and improving as he seems to put into training in general. Take his time to improve and build his hype back up as he is still young-ish and take another run at the top spot in a couple of years time. The big money fights for him now are Saunders and deGale etc but he'll just get ****ed up so should avoid them imo.
