He's only lost to elite boxers so far. If it doesn't take an elite one to beat him, how come European level Chudinov, Yildirim and O'Sullivan were destroyed and former world level Abraham punchbagged into oblivion against him?

Those style of fighters suit him but Abraham was way past his best, O'Sullivan is far from Elite & Yildrim was very poor. Groves was considered there for the taking, is Groves now Elite ? Callum Smith destroyed a guy in a round that went 12 with DeGale, I mean we could come up with thousands of examples/triangle theories but just because Eubank has beat his other opposition doesn't mean it takes only Elite fighters to beat him.

Josh Taylor stopped a guy Canelo couldn't stop, twice. Is Taylor Elite ?

Julius Indongo beat good fighters in Burns/Troynovsky. Bud who is Elite stopped him, his only loss. Only Elite fighters can beat Indongo ? You see where I'm going ? And no, I don't think it only takes Elite fighters to beat Indongo, Prograis probably wins that one & he isn't Elite. Which is exactly my point.

Eubank is not world class, so it doesn't take Elite fighters to beat him.

Ok so which domestic MWs or SMWs could beat him? European too?

I'll look at names & give you an honest list. But you said it takes an Elite fighter to beat him, so even fringe world class shouldn't beat him in you're mind & judging by last night that is way off.

Ok fair enough I'll wait for the list. It's the manner in which Eubank destroyed the names above that make him clearly a cut above and therefore world level for me. He has is flaws but look at the way he destroyed O'Sullivan, Blackwell and Yildirim and then consider how BJS struggled past O'Sullivan, Ryder, Lee and Akavov. And people will automatically use the excuse "he was unfit". Even if he was unfit he should have been able to comprehensively give them a boxing lesson. Eubank would batter all of them pillar to post.

I've had people here previously argue that Gabe Rosado and Martin Murray could beat Eubank...

The Abraham fight is almost worthless because he was shot. A prime Abraham would have destroyed Euabnk Jr.

Right. Fair enough, I see where you're coming from & no, Rosado/Murray don't beat Eubank IMO. And his win vs O'Sullivan was impressive, in terms of the manner. So I get it but I'm holding him to the standard he, his father & the hype suggested he was & a bit like Ohara Davies, it felt like he was exposed.

I honestly think a good jab & movement right off the bat give him fits, he always needs to be set & as he struggles against movers to get in to position those flashy combos he throws vs stationary fighters go out of the window. I am hard on him but his father was my favourite fighter in the 80's/90's. It was Eubank Sr with Tyson, Naz & Lennox Lewis that really got me in to boxing. I was devastated when Collins beat Eubank Sr so whaen I hear him being called the next superstar, Mayweather etc I'm looking for special/elite and all I got was someone offsetting him with a jab, subtle movements to his left (Eubank's) and enough power to keep him honest.

Where was the variety of punches, versatility, I.Q etc that made him special. I know this is not on you but man, I was gutted he looked as poor last night.

    Agreed.

The Abraham that won against Miranda and wiped the floor with Taylor would have kayoed Junior.

I still don't get it how people can write about junior having fought elite boxers. In all honesty, whilst I rooted for Groves and rate him I do not think he is elite. He is very good and solid.

Eubank to win the WBSS tournament after Groves pulls out because of his shoulder injury.

Jr was back in the gym yesterday. Working bags, that wall apparatus..

He needs a rest, he needs to reflect and make some very hard decisions, he needs to make changes to everything, it's all very good rushing back down the gym and getting it posted it on social media but what does it prove?

All it says to me is he hasn't learnt anything from the whole experience, he will carry on doing what is doing.

He is 29 this year, while he is relatively fresh he isn't a baby and hasn't got years and years of prime left.

This is a valid point. Eubank's style isn't conducive to a man in his mid to late 30s so he only has maybe three years left at his "peak".

I do however think it is commendable he is back in the gym. The Warrior's Code in practice.

The gap between the guys Jr has beaten and the guys at the top is just too big to be able to consider Jr world class.

O'Sullivan, Blackwell and Yildrim made Jr look very good. But just because Jr can destroy a certain handful of European/domestic level fighters doesn't make him world level. He simply needs to do it against a higher level of opposition. Martin Murray would actually have been a great opponent for him instead of Quinlan, Blackwell or Doran.

I just can't think of any proven world level boxers who I could see him beating at this moment in time. At SMW we have Groves and Ramirez. At MW we have Golovkin, Canelo, BJS and Jacobs. At LHW we have Stevenson, Kovalev ... I don't know what Jr does against any of them.
