that's what happens to your self when your trainer is an obsessive, overbearing megalomaniac more interested in his image than actually developing a talent. hopefully Jr sees a shrink and cuts ties with that nut. if i were him i'd probably just quit boxing, take what money i had and run. but it's easy to be rational when you've got a lot of life experience and are on the outside looking in.
Of course he was himself. He just came undone under Groves experience and skillset. Sometimes when you dont have the experience under you to fall back on, and have that second nature to your ability that the amature circuit establishes in most young fighters, you can get drawn out of any composure you may have wanted to have (and would normally have against a lesser opponent) when you start getting outclassed. I suspect Eubank simply started feeling outclassed a bit, akward, lost, ect, lost his composure and resorted to a more natural form of fighting for him while also trying to land a momentum changing hail marry shot.
He was clueless, he had someone who had a boxing brain connected to foot work & balance. You hae seen him like this before if you watched the schooling Bjs gave him...he has cherry picked all along & as frauds do has come unstuck in great fashion...then showed almost the total lack of class by 1 assuming the paying public would pay to watch him fight again, 2 by calling out the weakest smw champ in truax 3 by assuming he deserves a title shot right away... well I guess he is a son of a multi millionaire , privately educated & the feeling of entitlement is clearly a force in this privileged young man.
Junior needs more in his locker, he has the game for a static come forward opponent like Abraham but he needs one for a stick and mover that knows how to tie him up, feint and counter as Groves did. Eubank just now is too one dimensional.
It's a figure of speech in boxing parlance. Like ''he's a bum'', but you don't mean they're literally a bum that you poop out of.
It's the same Groves that promised Golovkin a fight, Golovkin flew across the ocean to sign the contract, then Eubanks ran like Hell! Golovkin would have killed him and he knows it...............
Jr in my opinion is a mauler/brawler/fighter, he has to be because he can't box and that's absolutely fine but he can't cut a ring off, his footwork is a shambles, his ring IQ is poor, he looks like he hasn't got a clue. I'm not digging Jr out, that's his style, I actually like that sort of style. My personal favourite fighter Nigel Benn always had trouble with boxers/movers, not all of them but some, the difference being Benn did have that equaliser, he could seriously punch, he could KO or seriously hurt an opponent with a single shot. Jr fights a style that better suits somebody who can really punch, Saturday he was constantly loading up with single shots but he isn't a big puncher, in my opinion he is an accumulative puncher, he has stamina to burn, he has a solid chin so he needs to break an opponent down and he doesn't really now how to do it with effective pressure when an opponent moves, gives him angles and pops out a stiff jab. That's why he looked poor Saturday, he hasn't learnt how to effectively impose his attributes when he is on front of a competent boxer.
Yeah definitely, We all know now why Sr wouldn't sign, Golovkin would have seriously hurt his son, it would have been a really hard watch after a couple of rounds. I actually think Jr is delusional enough to want that fight, I believe he would have signed for the fight, he believes his own hype. It was Sr who didn't want it, Sr had the contract and didn't sign, Jr said he never saw a contract and I actually believe him, Sr saved his son from what I believe would have been a savage beating.
