Charles had lost 2 of his last 4 fights.
Both Charles and Walcott lost to Layne,"a limited slow plodder."

Of course you are correct, not only can you feel their punches more ,your own punches have less effect on bigger men. If this wasn't the case nobody would make such a big deal of it!

This thread is about Frazier and Marciano's success against Modern Heavyweights. Not each other.

Why are you only looking at his last 4 fights? Why not his last 2 then? You're simply trying to narrow down a short period before he fought Marciano where he went 50/50.

I'm aware of that.My point is Frazier would be just as effective at controlling modern heavyweights as Marciano. In my opinion a lot more so.

I'm showing that in his last 4 fights his win ratio was 50/50.A fighter in decline.
You have a bad habit of telling everyone what they are thinking ,which wouldn't be so irksome if sometimes you were right!

You have a big misunderstanding. 20 lbs is SUPPOSED to matter (because like I already addressed theoretically the heavier fighter is SUPPOSED to be stronger) and it does in 99% of cases because the two fighters aren't Rocky Marciano and Joe Frazier. Another point is most fighters aren't heavyweights either where 20 lbs matters a lot less. Ask all heavyweights how much 20 lbs matters at heavyweight "say a 230 lb guy and a 250 lb guy" and you'll get significantly less guys "telling you the exact opposite".

I'm sorry if this hurts your feelings but I'm not going to take your experience seriously on a heavier fighter being harder to fight. I've seen your bag work and shadow boxing and you don't have an understanding of the fundamentals of boxing. Maybe perform is a better word. I'm sure you know in your head what to do but for some reason it's not coming out in your body. I'm not trying to hurt your feelings at all or attack you but I know for a fact you would have a much easier time if you could actually apply boxing fundamentals successfully in the ring.

I said "Frazier was shorter he would be ineffective at wearing an opponent down by leaning on them." A taller fighter will be effective at wearing an opponent down by leaning on them. Not the other way around.

You asked why Frazier has a better chance against modern heavies than Marciano.I gave you my reasons, reasons which seem to be about the same as the rest of those that replied.
I'm not interested in a tit for tat squabble with you.Imo you don't come here to discuss boxing ,you are here to put down others opinions in as sneering manner as you can manage and to propagate your own singular points of view .
Well do it with some one who actually gives a **** about you, because that isn't me.

We are talking about 185-190 vs 205-215+ at the same age. Thats a modern day LHW vs CW fight night weight.

I will upload something for you next time im in the gym

Look guys, Frazier was a great fighter, but he was not in any way a great athlete.

I am sure that I could find a middleweight who was stronger than him physically.

Yes he is carrying a weight advantage here, but it doesn't really translate into any tangible physical advantage.

You're literally the only person on here who's interactions with me always end up like this. Personal attacks. I have no problem having peaceful exchange of ideas with other posters in fact I do it all the time.
