Stiverne the first time was his first and only test up till this point. And that Stiverne hardly threw any punches.

yet again i will reply in one of these threads

wilder has lacked abilty v both washington and spilzka and lost a lot of rounds to both

the only 2 fights where the opponent did not stand stock still in front of him

ortiz does not run / but he does love a feint / does love a fighter to come to him and has great counter punching skills

what ortiz does not do well is chase and up the tempo when he has to

will wilder box on the backfoot to counteract ortiz strengths

    he should IMO
but i have never seen him do that before /he is a seek and destroy fighter .
v washington and spilzka wilders offense was all over the place / well v spilzka it was v washington for whatever reason and i dont know what it was he was very passive .

i say over and over ortiz is a real deal fighter to the eye test / his heart when he has been hurt himself is unknown / wilder might catch him with something and ortiz might not fancy it anymore

could happen i dont know /historically most cuban heavies have folded softly in big title fights
ortiz i think is more solid / but it is guesswork on my part.

h2h i pick ortiz over wilder and joshua

i think the fighter with the style best suited to beat him is a prime fury who could use his jab and move and frustrate the hell out of ortiz.

wilder and joshua prefer to go looking for a ko rather than play it safe which IMO is the way to fight ortiz / use speed /length and height and just keep him at range.

ortiz despite being 6.4 is more comfertable in the pocket / he does not jab a great deal his right hand is for blocking and deflecting his opponents left hand so he can shoot his favourite punches left down the pipe.

he also loses power on his right hand throwing from distance it is wide and slow when he has to punch upwards and unless deontay leads his head into him he should be safe from being cracked with lead rights.

all in all as i have said many times dont sleep on ortiz
if wilder wins this the excuse factor of ortiz is 48/old/drug free/shot/ old man/dead man walking will be trollied out

wrong IMO it will be a great win for wilder v a very good technical fighter and one that should elevate him in america and the rest of the world to a new legitimacy of his title reign.

Rigondeaux like, 75, 85 year old.

Officially he is 37. Many people say he is really in his 40s.

Jokes aside, Ortiz is the best guy Wilder will have faced. Yeah, he's pretty old but he seems in great shape and I have the feeling that it's going to be a close contest. About frickin time.

I am as much half elephant half dolphin, as Ortiz real age is 38.

Now if you were to say 48 then it would be accurate.

On topic, Ortiz is made to measure for Wilder. Static target and hands up, limited movement.

Wilder will eventually get to him land something big behind the guard, rock him and then windmill stop him. This will be inside the first 6 rounds.

Wilder would struggle most against a highly skilled boxer, who has good movement and counter punching. But expect him to be knocked out even if that boxer does not face him, because his defence is all about reflexes and alertness and that always slows as you age.

Ortiz is the best Wilder has faced, but that is not saying much! Remember, Wilder has HAYMON BOXING INSURANCE! If Ortiz were to knock Wilder out, he will be framed like before and like Povetkin, even though VADA cleared Povetkin, WBC refused to allow Povetkin to knock Wilder out! The nursing home still might not let him fight!

Agreed...I think it’s long overdue and actually think Ortiz might pull off the upset.
