Aust Commonwealth Games Boxing update.
The lighter members of the Aus boxing team has left for a two week training camp
in Baguio city in Philippines. ( the over 75 kg in Colorado Springs ). One of the
Aust brightest hope for a medal is Liam Wilson 64 kg and at 21 is already 5 x
National Champ and he will have the pro scouts ringside on the Gold Coast trying to
tempt him to forego the Tokyo Olympic's . Liam will head to another camp at the
Aust Institute of Sports after Baguio camp.
The CMW games are in April and Liam expects if all goes well to face Englishmen
and his biggest rival Luke McCormack in the games final.

Rios may be at the end of his career but he would still beat Horn. So many welterweights that I saw over the weekend that are either past it or fringe contenders but I would still back them to beat Horn who is the worst welterweight champion I ever seen. I'm talking about Ortiz and Alexander I reckon they both have enough left to beat Horn. Also did you see Ugas on the Garcia Rios under card. He would clown Horn IMO.

Big Daddy Lucas Browne leaves for England next week to step ups his
preparations for Dillian Whyte fight. LB has been sparring Tongan CMW
games rep Sam Kei in Sydney Blacktown and will work with Derek Chisora
and Nathan Gorman in the UK.
Townsville Mark Flanagan who faces Uruguay Maurico Barragan on March 17
has powerful South African IBO champ Kevin Larena in his sights if he wins .
More than 300 people attended a fundraiser for former LHW title challenger
Jason Delisle at the Juniors Club at Marouba. Jason is battling cancer.The fight
fraternity donated prizes including a Sam Soliman IBF world title belt , Jeff Horn
vs Manny Pacquiao memorabilia and a training session with Jason former foe
Danny Green.
All the best Jason from the whole boxing community .

 

Sad to hear about Jason battling cancer. Hope they raise a heap of money.

 

His former trainer Dino Billinghurst said the fundraiser was a huge
success with Mark Warren as auctioneer.

He was just on a tv show over here with danny green and some other celebrities called IM A CELEBRITY GET ME OUT OF HERE and I assumed it was to get a bit of hype for a 3rd fight with those 2, didnt watch it but did see a clip with bit of the usual banter with Mundine complaining about the result of there last fight.
