Well if Hurley is teaching a modified form of the St. Paul style for 50 years after Gibbons retired thats a pretty powerful statement as to Gibbons influence, particularly in light of how important a figure Hurley was in boxing.

Yeah in fact if you compare Matthews-Murphy to Gibbons-Bloomfield you can see Matthews using a lot of the same moves Tommy uses. Drawing punches, leaning way back and stepping around to counter from angles, economy of movement. Its pretty interesting.

 

He would hit an opponents arms which was unusual but adopted by many other fighrers.

Obviously The Jew went by The Jew to be antagonistic. He was being everything they said a jew was. Coward? Invented defense. Greedy? Charged their asses just to watch. Clever? Prophesied to increase his pocket size. The dude just trolled the ever living **** out of all of England and only did it because they were hateful.
