The Whitaker that fought McGirt goes against the Tito (from when he actually fought Whitaker)... does Whitaker change the result?

Whittaker schools him just too slick for Tito....Tito as mentioned in another thread was too conventional and straight lined to fight the good slick fighters

A non-coked up Pea, prime version, could hang with any Top 10 (or less) Lightwight, Jr WW, WW, close to his own size (excluding Hearns). I would take Prime Pea W by UD over Tito.

    Whitaker by comfortable UD.

Pernell had regressed quite a bit between '94 and '99.

BTW: '94 version of Whitaker would also have won a comfortable UD over prime Oscar De La Hoya. the scoring was controversial when they did actually fight in '97 and many thought Pernell won.

Pea all coked up and shot to **** more or less held his own with Tito until about the 7th round, I thought. Been a long time since I saw that fight though, and like I said in the Trinidad thread, I thought that Tito had regressed a bit by 99 compared to the 93-95 version.

I'd back Pea to have enough to still outpoint even the earlier Trinidad, I think, though perhaps riding some heavy moments along the way.
