Wilder vs Ortiz has only sold 9000 out of 18000 tickets yet wants 50/50 with AJ LOL!

Maybe it won't be a sellout, but i do believe around 14 000 people will be in attendance.

 

Was there even an actual press conference for the fight where they actually promoted it...like in a real room where both answered questions?

 

Was not a single press conference for the Wilder vs Povetkin fight with three days to go. Weird that, like they never expected the fight to happen.

 

Wilder has a statue. Ortiz moves like one.

 

I put it down to lack of promotion of the fight, which has been poor to non existent. I think the tickets prices are fair tbh for a fight between two top heavyweights.

I said in another thread earlier this week - whatever the reason for poor sales, boxing is a business and Wilder simply doesn't bring the numbers to demand a 50/50 split for the AJ fight.

Honestly if the arena is only half sold with a week til fight night that's bad and only reaffirms that Wilder has not caught on with the public. It's not the promotion it's the ability. Today's fans are more sophisticated they are not paying for what they believe is not a legit talent. In all honesty it would probably be better for the division to have Ortiz win.

 

Fees on Wilder-Ortiz tickets just got dropped to zero for the next 24 hours.
