Its'a long shot Tubbs wins ,but of the 80/s heavy s he's one I'd give a good chance of beating wlad. It would have to be TT at his most motivated and best shape. Fast hands , tough , decent chin .But Tubbs has to keep moving and not let wlad get in to his game .There's would and there's could ..and Tubbs is the latter. If Tony doesn't stick to a game plan he'll end up a Klitschko's victim .

Tubbs is tailor made for Wlad. He'd stand absolutely no chance. Wlad feasted on small, light punching technicians. Just look at Byrd.

Someone mentioned Fury and, yes, if Tubbs had another extra 6 inches in height and reach, he'd be a big problem for Wlad. But he didn't.

Absolutely not.Tubbs is much closer to Fury than Byrd stylewise.

No, he isn't. Both Tubbs and Byrd are way better technicians than Fury, but the real difference is size. If Fury hade been 6'3, Wlad would have slaughtered him. Even the crappy version Fury faced.

Fury's low hands and lean back defence would have been absolutely sucide against Wlad if he gave up substantial height and reach, like Tubbs would.

Tubbs would actually do better than Fury would if he was Tubbs's size, but Tubbs would still be hopelessly outsized and outgunned against Wlad. Giving up size to Wlad while having a weak punch and chin, is a very, very tough vantage point.

But, yes, an 6'9 Tubbs with a an 85' reach would have an excellent chance of beating any version of Wlad.

But if Louis, Ali, Liston, Foreman, Tyson, Holy and many others had those dimensions while keeping their skill and speed they'd beat Wlad without breaking a sweat.

Ali would struggle with Wlad, yes.

But Ali had freakish speed and footwork. He's not Tony Tubbs, he's a whole other kettle of fish.

Yep, Wlad is one if the most difficult opponents you could conjure up for Ali. Fury too, btw.

Wlad was one-dimensional but the thing he did best he did exceptionally well. And that was keeping smaller fighters on the end of his straight punches.

Any smaller fighter would have an extremely hard time trying to counter Wlad, so they would have to wade into the killing zone to do damage and that wasn't the strong suit of either Ali or Tubbs.

Tubbs was a lot taller than Byrd though.

    1,5 inch. Wouldn't call that "a lot".

And he'd still be giving up 3 inches to Wlad. And he was 6 inches shorter than Fury.

If Wlad doesn't suffer an injury, he beats Tubbs easily. I think this is one of the easiest hypothetical match-ups to call of any I've ever seen here. Have absolutely zero doubt.

Wlad was hell on earth for a smaller guy to outbox. I'd not favor any smaller fighter to do it actually
