I disagree! I think Anthony Joshua could also beat Deontay Wilder, along with Alexander Povetkin.

Otherwise, Kubrat Pulev could very well give Deontay Wilder his toughest challenge, if not beat him. Same with Jarrell Miller and Dillian Whyte. Until Wilder faces those other boxers, we really won't know how good Deontay Wilder is at that top level.

 

I really think you underrate the footspeed of Ortiz and his movement generally.

 

Ortiz has many qualities that have previously given Wilder loads of trouble. Over 3000 amateur fights is no joke, that guy knows what he's doing.

 

Wilder has a (slight) reach disadvantage and is fighting a skilled southpaw, I think to assume the outside battle is already won on his part is a little naive. His feet will move fast than Ortiz's, no doubt, but will he really know where he's going? Or will he just walk faster in a counter shot?

He better cause otherwise the fight will turn into his worst nightmare. If Ortiz gets confident he will give Wilder problems. As a matter of fact I think Wilder will try to KO Ortiz quick.

 

Absolutely no chance, have any of you actually seen Ortiz box? This forum ridicules Wilder on a daily basis yet people believe he will KO a world class southpaw with ease?

 

Funny thing is out of the two up coming heavyweight title fights I believe that Ortiz is more of a style nightmare for aj and parker is more of a style headache for wilder.

Ortiz wouldn’t have to go looking for aj, Joshua would stay in front of him and Isn’t as athletic as wilder who I think will look to pop the jab at range with Ortiz.

were as parker with his fast hands and quicker feet than most heavyweights (when he has weighed in light) could really put wilder on the back foot and get on wilders chest and Steal rounds, so could make a case if opponents were reversed would be even tougher fights for both especially Ortiz for aj.

 

Ortiz is the much better boxer and has a better jab with longer reach... Wilder will find it difficult on the outside and if he tries to get inside with his pitiful defence Ortiz will find a home for the left hook... Lights out. Ortiz in 5.

 

Whyte won't be much of a challenge unlike others you listed.

He's mediocre boxer with average power and low skill level. Ortiz, Parker and few others are miles ahead of Whyte.

 

Whyte won't have any chance vs Wilder. Whyte is relatively slow, throws a lot of wild shots and his power is nothing special for a HW. I think this is pretty much a wide UD for Wilder or even a late stoppage. Chisora should have won the fight vs Whyte. This tells pretty much everything if you should have lost to a shot Chisora who is done for good.

 

I'll say this...Ortiz is the best HEAVYWEIGHT counterpuncher to come along within the last 5 years or so. The last time I've seen a great HEAVYWEIGHT counterpuncher like that was James Toney.

Wilder will get countered Saturday night, but the question is will the shot hurt him?
