I mean that's basically his ceiling here, maybe he could do a little better than Chambers because of his reach.

In his absolute prime at 230 lbs? Yes

The best version of Tubbs out slicks the best version of Wlad by UD.

Prime Tubbs took the shots of Bonecrusher Smith, Greg Page and Tim Witherspoon without being dropped.

A fit, prime Tubbs is naturally 230 lbs. Chris Byrd was a blown up LHW/Cruiserweight.

Natural in the sense that it wasn't silicone in his man boobs, love handles, and jelly rolls.

Tubbs was a bit bigger, but don't think there was much difference in terms of chin and power.

I haven't watched his fights vs Smith and Page, but vs Spoon Tubbs fought much like vs Bowe - and was rarely hit clean. Nevertheless, Spoon had him badly hurt with one punch and Tubbs was on jelly legs in 10th or 11th round.

He is better than Byrd in just about every department. Again, it is a mute point to compare Tubbs to Byrd. From a stylistic point of view, Tubbs carries much more similarities with Fury. Tubbs can move while Byrd is stationary

Smith and Wlad are nothing alike.

Even a guy who has parents who are brother and sister, plus alcoholics to boot like you can see this.

Byrd had the skills to fight inside and win bouts, not simply get on his bicycle and give away rounds.

Byrd beat Vitali, McCline, Tua, and Holyfield. I doubt Tubbs could win those fights.

Tubbs had a 2 year window where he was a top HW and a formidable opponent. Klitschko has almost 20. Another point to look at when considering this one.... Skills and physical attributes aside.

Tubbs beats Tua easily.Look Byrd is a bit overrated here. Mc Cline is not a big name and Byrd had lots of trouble with him.Vitali was on his way to outpoint Byrd and then quit.Byrd did beat 41 years old Holy but in much less impressive fashion than did Toney.

And your point is ? We are matching the Tubbs in that 2 year window against Wlad.

It's just something to think about. But now that you mention it I'm going to favor the guy who remained consistently solid for nearly 2 decades to the guy who had 2 years of greatness in him. Tubbs isn't a particularly bad matchup for him wither.
