Does anyone know why Al Bray stopped boxing?

He seems to have only boxed for 5 years, and looked to have been doing pretty well too.

He seemed to have been somewhat of a giant killer.
    Beating:

    6'4 220lb Hank Hankinson
    6'4 250lb Abe Simon
    6'5 218lb Chuck Crowell
    230lb Frank Connolly
    6'5 270lb Blimp Williams

Would be cool to have been able to watch his fights with modern cameras.

He ran out of big men to beat. Just born too early. Definitely would have become champion if he was around today.

So much talent depth in the 30’s.
You could scrap the top twenty HWs from the era, and the division could still be compelling.
