If Wilder gets to 40-0, that'll put him #3 all-time behind Holmes (48-0) and Rocky (49-0)

Yeah, because Marciano and Foreman TOOK ON THE WORLD in their first 30-something pro fights.

How many times did Rocky fight his brother (while his brother took an assumed name) again?

Who did Marciano fight in his 35th pro fight? Willis Applegate and his 11-14-2 record?

Who did Foreman fight in his 37th pro fight? Terry Sorrell and his 4-15 record?

    Marciano and Foreman bloomed late.

Same with Wilder. He's coming on strong now.

I mentioned Lamar Clark and the 36 guys with no wins he faced, the five guys he faced with one win and the two-win opponent and four-opponent he faced to compile his 42-0 record. Basically 40 men with a combined FIVE wins total.

Anyone who compares Wilder to Lamar Clark is a dolt. Seriously.

A dolt, eh? I think you're being rather mean-spirited, and perhaps missing the greater point in making such a comparison.

This has been explained to you and others SEVERAL times.

Wilder turned pro on Nov 15th 2008. Over NINE years ago.

Foreman turned pro Jun 23, 1969 and had the same amount of fights by Jan 22, 1973. THREE 1/2 years

Context matters.. Try digging a little more before posting easily debunked nonsense like this fanboy

No it hasn't. And Foreman crammed a lot of fights in a short period, had a nervous breakdown, thought he died and went to hell, and retired at 27.

Who cares if Wilder spreads them out.

You've got some bizarre way of measuring fighters. If he stops Ortiz early, Ortiz is shot. If Wilder wins 40 fights in nine years, that's bad. He has to win them in three and a half. Although Tyson Fury turned pro at the same time as Wilder, has about half as many fights, and Fury can't fight anyone good this year because he needs to take it slow.

You just hate Wilder. Clear as day. Can't give him credit for anything.

    Wilder's 40 opponents have a combined like 700 or 800 wins.

Lamar Clark's first 40 opponents had a combined FIVE wins.

There is no "GREATER" point. They are nothing alike.

Because it's CLEARLY relevant.... Regardless of the mental gymnastics you're trying to play. Defeats the whole purpose of your point.

This was in response to a thread that someone else made. I don't consider that a likely scenario that Ortiz is stopped early. But in my view that if it does happen it's because at 39 years old(at least) he's gotten old over night. However I think he'll show up in solid form and ultimately ask some questions, but will end up losing to the faster and younger Wilder. It would be a good win for Wilder.

Context MATTERS. Fury has been inactive for a lot of that stretch and he also stepped much sooner than Wilder did. Despite the inactivity, problems out of the ring, 10+ less fights he's achieved much more.

I don't like Wilder. You're spot on. That doesn't mean my criticism or bashing of him is always off base. Granted there have been occasions where I've gotten carried away and have been unfair.

What kind of mental gymnastics are you going to play next Mr. thicker than a brick/Dunning-Kruger?

So you're capable of this kind of logic when it benefits Wilder. Not when it doesn't.....

Ididn't think Wilder had 40 fights. His resume is weak, I agree with you. Most guys at heavyweight now have a weak resume compared to guys of 30 years ago..

He might make it to 40-0 but he will definitely not make it to 50-0 if he fights Joshua Fury or Parker and I wouldn't be surprised if Ortiz beats him.

Actually guys are fighting top guys sooner BC of social media...

    Example...

Wlad Klitchko didnt fight anyone of note until his 36th fight. Which was Byrd.

However he didn't water down his career and got there in 6 years with set backs...

This generation fighters are taking less time BC of the new media ...had Bowe and Lewis been around or social media were around then ...that fight GETS made trust me.
