    ?
I'm not blaming anyone. I was just curious if it was a normal boxing match where everything looked ok or not.

Calm down, the guy just wants to know if there was any foul play during the fight, which would help explain why he suddenly died in hospital.

All we have is some vague information that he was feeling pain in the post interview before being taken to hospital.

It also helps us to know what to look out for in future fights so boxing can do more to prevent it from happening.

Just saw footage of the fight. Westgrath took some very heavy shots sadly. It's very upsetting and serves as another reminder just how dangerous this sport is.

I am all for prevention, and helping fighters stay safer...

But to pose such questions so close after this tragedy, surely they can wait.

That is all i am saying.

Seen the interview, he seemed fine whilst talking but appeared to hold his head just as the clip ended. Sad news, poor kid.

The post-fight interview popped up in my video recommendation a short while ago. Really hit home the reality of our sport and how easy it is to sit behind a computer and knock fighters. Very sad.

This is so true. Myself included. Only on Sunday was I shouting for the over matched, under sized French fella to punch Yarde back. These fella’s are absolute warriors just for climbing through them ropes.

Very sad for Scott Westgarth’s family.

There is no need to feel guilty criticizing fighters. It's what helps to create a hot topic around the sport. If there were no good and bad discussions, how much interest would there be? Having passionate discussion, even mocking fighters is part of the theatre aspect of it all, so long as underneath it all you appreciate and respect their will to get in the ring.

It's no different to when two fighters are trash talking whilst, calling each other bums. I we think know someone who is waking up 5 am every morning to do road work before training and sparring in the gym every day isn't a bum, but we know in the boxing world, it is part and parcel of the banter to create interest and to get your point across in a discussion to paint how bad you feel a fighter's quality is.

Iv often been pretty critical of your views on this forum, however this is an excellent post.

Words are often banded about and like you said other fighters trashtalk each other sometimes even hate other fighters but I can guarantee every single boxer who hears of news like this will get butterflies in their stomach and it will affect them in some way or other. Its very sad and humbling to hear news like this, but its not just part of sport its part of life. We can go many different ways and at any given time, make of the most of the time you have...... just like the guys in boxing who have lost their life as tragic as is, there are always positives to take out of it.

Condolences to those he leaves behind and I wish them the best in their future and hope this doesn't affect them long term. In instances like this, forget the negatives, forget those who you disagree with or dislike and be thankful for what we have whilst we have it.
