Anthony Joshua is younger and turned pro four years later than Deontay Wilder. But has he fought the better opposition? Why has Wilder been so very protected? Why did he not fight Klitschko and Takam, instead choosing shot Arreola and chinny Szpilka?
As of right now it's easily Joshua but only because of the Wlad fight. Obviously even a 41 y/o Wlad is better than anyone Wilder has ever faced. That said after the Ortiz fight it will be much closer. Ortiz would be Joshua second best opponent to date. A 38 y/o Ortiz vs a 41 y/o Wlad would be close to pick 'em fight imo. Ortiz is a guy with serious boxing skills and power as well. This fight will start to give people some answers about Wilder. Although I'm picking Wilder I would not be surprised if Ortiz won. Save for 4 or 5 guys Ortiz would be the clear favorite against anyone in the HW division. I can't wait until Saturday night. Wilder likely won't be able to get away with boxing sloppy against Ortiz. So if Wilder get a win on Saturday his resume will look much better.
Joshua. It's not even close. Big step in the right direction for Wilder this weekend, though, to be fair to him.
The only difference is that AJ has Wlad on his resume, albeit a 41yo inactive Wlad...but it's still head and shoulders the best win. Other than that I think their resumes are pretty even although Wilder has had double the fights.
Breazeale ranks way higher than anybody on Wilder's resume. That's how bad Wilder's resume is - bums, fringe cans and has beens.
Joshua's record is better, they both fought a lot of cannon fodder.; The main thing is Joshua got through his trash guys and old usual suspects in 15 fights, Wilder is still retreading for the most part 40 fights in. But my no means is Joshua's record some type of ATG record in the making.
True. Wilder avoided durable journeymen for many years, instead choosing faded old men who were easy to KO. Even in his early fights, Joshua fought guys Wilder avoided, like Kevin Johnson who had never been KOed.
Joshua and it's not even close. Wlad and Takam are better than anyone Wilder has fought to date. Even if Wilder beats Ortiz, the Wlad win is still better and if Joshua beats Parker then the gap in resume grows even further as Joshua with each fight adds more depth to his record. Wilder wasted too many years and he's playing catch up, Joshua in his short career has blown past Wilder in terms of resume and popularity.

Joshua will have defeated 4/ 5 ranked top 10 WBC guys.....legit ranked...not ones who were put there so Wilder could fight them..lol Add in Klitchko where Joshua picked up a win in 18 fights? A Parker win and he's than a 3 belt unified champion which he already is. Only a complete head case would even try and claim they are close let alone vote for Wilder here.....
