Brook is on absolutely the same level as Ricky Burns - both overachieved due to the high number of World Title Belts on offer these days and both nowhere near elite level. Every time both fought elite fighters they were pumped - Burns at least knew his level and skipped away from fighting all night against Crawford and more recently against a non elite fighter Indongo. I remember Shell Brook as the man who promised to deliver Chocolate Brownies and quit twice due to a very small heart. His 'socket' injuries looked minor compared to what Denis Lebedev fought through for 11 rounds against Jones and Burns for a further 10 rounds against Beltran. As soon as Brook was hit in his career, he folded quicker than a stool being released following a dodgy curry.
Yes Burns had less talent but had a much bigger heart than Brook. Brook was happy fighting stiffs and had no answers when he fought the elite.
1. Hopkins 2. Mayweather 3. Tszyu As of 2005 according to the Ring magazine prior I may add of Hatton beating Tszyu. Also I will add that I am in no way a Hatton fan, Tszyu was Infact and still is one of my favourite fighters to watch. The fact that I wasn't able to go watch Tszyu when he finally came to the UK as it was on my son's 1st birthday will haunt me to my grave. So I was correct wasn't I.
Nobody can say Hopkins was shot when he fought Calzaghe considering he fought on for another 8 years anyway. Calzaghe's win over prime Kessler is his greatest win. Hatton was a good world champion but very overrated. I mean who gets KO'd by feather-fisted May FFS.
It's all very well for a kid like you in his 30s to be talking about graves....but spare a thought older folk like me for whom it's a looming reality... Well if you were such a big fan of tzu then You'll know he went downhill overnight and was a shot fighter against Hatton that night. Prime tzu wudda hosed Hatton. Never mind tzu being top 3 p4p worldwide...(eamonn McGee wAs barely top 5 in Northern Ireland .....Top 5 alcoholics more like)
I agree Hatton was a good fighter but it was very debatable whether he was even the best in the UK as he did not fight and defeat Junior Witter and Ajose Olusegun who alongside him were the best of that era on our shores.
Olusegun feasted on bums up until he finally stepped up and got destroyed off Matthysse.....its disgusting that you even dared put both fighters in the same sentence. Witter was always a step behind Hatton and as ive already said previously when Witter was winning his title Hatton was fighting Collazo. Also Witters defences where C level at best Morua and Harris prior to losing once his competition stepped up against Bradley. Hatton WAS the MAN at 140 in the UK....you should be ashamed with yourself for even mentioning Olusegun.
Barton lacked balls to prove he was thee man Money v risk Wicky would not take risks with out guarantee maximum payday Sounds like another British ww
Sorry but how is Brook 'wasted talent'? He won a genuine world title in America against a home fighter who was blitzing everyone at the time and his only 2 losses are to elite level opposition in fights in which he performed well. Still have to see how he fairs at LMW now to make a proper judgement.
