Do people understand why Joshua is ducking Wilder now?

It's a unification fight, both have something each wants and needs to cement themselves as no 1.

I really don't care who sells more tickets. This reminds me of Chris Eubank when he told Groves how much instagram followers he has compared to him. It means nothing in the ring.

This is boxing not popularity contests. It's their value in terms of ability. And both Wilder and Joshua are on par in that respect so both deserve a similar pay.

And let me ask you armchair promoters who are clearly getting paid for this fight. What is the worst outcome that occurs if Wilder gets 50/50?

Do Eddie or Joshua suddenly stop being multi millionaires or do you yourself lose all of your posessions thereby becoming oveenight vagrants? Or is the worst possible outcome is that we finally see the best fight the best?

One sentence you claim fans shouldn't get immersed in the negotations side, the next you're claiming that an offer to Parker was insulting.

Parker should be grateful for a career high pay day + Travel costs.

When one individual demands 50%, but isn't deserving of 50%, he's the guy preventing the fight from happening.

Yes everyone understands it's cause Wilder wants big a slice of the pie but is unproven and isn't a draw. The fight last night will help Wilder overcome that.

AJ is brings 2 titles to the table, while Wilder only brings 1. If he beats Parker then AJ is bringing 3 titles to the table. AJ is already considered higher ranked than Wilder by just about everyone. Even putting aside their popularity, AJ would deserve more money than Wilder.

Its called playing devils advocate. Learn it!

I'm merely playing along with the blame game and highlighting the fact that there has been one continual factor as to why these big fights haven't been made or been delayed.

And that is Eddie Hearn who has form for low balling fighters and protecting the men in his stable.

The real issue is you cant accept that Parker deserves his shot at AJ this month. Thats your opinion, i accept it but disagree.

He earned this fight fair and square. He got this fight so fast because he was willing to take less money than he felt he was worth. Thats what confident fighters have always done when they want a shot at the big money earner.

I tend to agree that AJ will beat Parker because AJ is pretty good, still that does not mean Parker did not earn his shot this month.

Wilder just stepped up last night ellerbe, lol, Last night dude, Wilder proved himself big time, he will get his due, relax, lol, it doesnt matter if you personally knew he could do it years ago, he only earned it last night after finally stepping up. Nobody knew for sure if Wilder could stand up to top 5 guys and he proved it last night.

    Not last year, last night.

Why don't you answer the questions which I put forward?

How much of an impact does Wilder receiving equal pay, have on AJ's and Hearn's financials as well as your own?

Tell me what bearing does it have on your life that you would rather fighter not have their demands met due to their level of popularity then see two of the best fight?

I mean you guys must really love boxing that you worry more about pieces of paper, than two men given the opportunity to showcase their talents in the ring.

If you are so uppity about this, why don't you get upset about the promoters and men behind the scenes who take large cuts from the fighter while they sit back and watch?

Why isn't anyone making any noise about that? Do you honestly believe the promoters and managers deserve a lion share of the cut?

Am I missing something here ?
I thought the common consensus was that AJ v Wilder will within the next 1-2 fights

In which case not really ducking is it

Taking the Parker fight was not really about ducking it was about common sense.....he still earns huge money and gets another belt ( IF he wins )

I'd obviously prefer AJ Wilder happens next , but if AJ fought stateside next against someone like Millar to build his US profile then I go no problem with that......and that would set up a huge Wembley statdium fight with Wilder next spring ( Wembley is a no go for winter )

I would imagine it would suit Wilder more as well as if he can squeeze another devastating KO then his value goes up further

I'm a Brit but not an AJ fanboy......it would be quite amusing seeing him lose
He has done everything right and is dedicated to living the life.....so I do respect and rate him....but at the same times the stars really did align for him and he has become a huge star off the back of effectively having the Gold Medal gifted to him and the world title gifted to him

But you're not playing devils advocate in the slightest.

Parker is probably earning over 2x his previous high.....So he's already being paid over the odds.

It doesn't bring anything to me, I just want the fight to get made, and I understand that each fighter must be realistic with their financial demands for that to happen. Like I already explicitly said, even if you ignore their popularity and look only at their ring accomplishments, AJ would deserve more. I don't give two shits about AJ's or Hearn's bank accounts, but they do, just like Wilder cares about his bank account as well.

That's why I'm discussing what would be a fair split. I'm not "uppity" about it, just realistic.

I seriously don't really give a damn how much he is being paid.

Call me old school, but in the days of Lewis, Bowe, Tyson and Holyfield, no one on the outside were concerned about contractual splits. The only concern is that the fights would get made not who is getting paid what. And not one of these fighters justified ducking the other through using contracts as an issue. And that was why that era was so great.

Since Mayweather strategically came up with the A-side B-side nonsense to justify avoiding certain fighters in their prime, boxing fans and fighters themselves have all lapped it up and brought into too
