Fury? No, that's not happening until Spring 2019 at the earliest. Fury will sign with Warren and he'll have about 3 or 4 fights to remove the cobwebs before even thinking about world-class opposition. And rightly so. I'd want it to happen in summer 2019. Also, you have to consider the venue. That fight is a Wembley-only fight. It has to happen in the summer because of the football schedule.

 

This. After the Wlad fight I knew Hearn wasn't going to let Joshua anywhere near Wilder until Joshua has at least 25-30 bouts under him. Joshua is still very green and would get knocked out when he gasses.

If he beats Parker then he will have matched Wlad in holding all but one of the relevent World Titles and be within touching distance of being the first Undisputed Unified World Heavyweight Champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

A Wilder/Joshua or Parker fight should be unavoidable in the near future but whoever wins the unification fight later this month will be WBA, IBF, and WBO World Champion and will have responsibilities to each organization that they will have to fulfill, and that means fighting their mandatories, which might put any potential unification fight with Wilder off until next year.

If the winner of Joshua/Parker fails to fight Wilder before 2020 then any claim about being a "false champion" would have some legitimacy.
