Who says AJ will even beat Parker? If AJ does ever fight Wilder what would it prove? That 2 big glass chin unskilled guys fought each other? The heavyweight division is still bad and I don't see it changing anytime soon.
Ultimately this. Don't get fooled by fun matchups and the top guys actually tangoing. The division still sucks. That said, the top guys are interesting characters with distinct entertaining fighting styles. So I understand some of the excitement, I guess.

Unification supersedes mandatory obligations, but it would be smart for both to face their pending mandatories before so we don't end up with a situation where 2 competing governing bodies forcing a mandatory defence from the undisputed champion to split the titles, we've seen that happen before many times.
