Hard to say. I think Wlad was a more effective puncher since he had better placement and hit flush more often. But wilder often hits at weird angles or into a guard yet still knocks the person out.

Imagine the damage Wilder could inflict if he had the technique and finesse of Wlad. There's your answer.

The closest to a Wlad like performance Wilder has ever given was his KO1 over Stiverne, the first KD that is.

Lets wait til Wilder fights Pulev before we decide.

    Wlad KO'd Wilder in sparring.....

    That should provide an answer.

Wladimir Klitschko throwing a right hand from the backyard like Wilder does 95% of the time.

It doesn’t land flush (more on the pinky side of the glove) and hits Pulev on the cheekbone and not temple or chin. But you can see the impact! And if you watch the actual broadcast... you can see it better and hear it.

Also check out some of the right hands he blasted 260lb Wach back with.

Vlad hits harder, esp. when he was younger. Vlad had the best right hand, the best left hook, jab, hook off the jab, etc., when he sparring Wilder Vlad knocked Wilder down with a jab, flattened him with a left hook, yes, there were witnesses.....................Vlad beat Wilder from one side of the ring to the other..............just superior skills............better leverage, the only thing Wilder has is the right hand and his come from left field.............

Find me one KO that Deontay Wilder scored like the KO Wladimir Klitschko scored over a previously UN-KO'ed + never been dropped opponent in around 300 amateur + pro bouts in Kubrat pulev.

Or find me any KO like the KO Wladimir Klitschko scored over Eddie Chambers. A boxer who was never KO'ed before or after by anybody else. A boxer who was not just knocked out by Wladimir Klitschko, but knocked out unconscious for at least 3 minutes.

    - Wladimir Klitschko has knocked out far more opponents ranked in the top 10.
    - Wladimir Klitschko has knocked out far more opponents that were previously unbeaten.
    - Wladimir Klitschko has knocked out far more opponents that were previously UN-KO'ed.

Luis Ortiz is one of the only few opponents that Wilder knocked out who was previously unbeaten. Yet, Luis Ortiz was old, had high blood pressure and past his best. And that knockout still doesn't come close to the sheer brutality of Wladimir Klitschko's knockout over Kubrat Pulev who at the time was not only undefeated like Luis Ortiz, but also in his prime and in peak physical condition.

Most of Wilder's knockouts are against opponents who have suspect chins or opponents who have previously been knocked out before.

It's possible that even Alexander Povetkin's left hooks / overhand rights are comparable in power to Deontay Wilder's 'windmill' right hands.

Erm, probably Wlad. I say that mostly because of how much Wilder loads up to land his power shots whereas Wlad's damage came more organically. I don't think there's an awful lot of difference though

If Deontay Wilder punched with the same technique as Wlad, he wouldn't be hitting as hard because he won't be committing as much, recklessly whilst leaving himself open with reckless abandon.

Wladimir Klitschko punches just as hard, if not harder than Wilder without having to commit as much as Wilder does.

The question is: how much damage would Wlad inflict if he were to throw with reckless abandon whilst committing more to his power punches, the way Wilder usually does?

Very well put. And to answer the last part... see my above post. Although Wlad didn’t even land that Deontey type haymaker with full force :D
