Being far to easy to hit, Mathew Saad Muhammad would be made-to-order for a fighter like Bob Foster, a fighter with tremendous punching power, good boxing skills and an advantage in terms of height.

I agree that is the most likely scenario. How did Foster`s comp during his reign compare to Saad?

I was thinking of Archie Moore. LOL. I don't know why............

I think Bob Foster had great power, especially in the left hook. But I think Saad had the strength to get inside of Foster's power. Once there, Saad would employ a body attack. Bob could catch and hurt him on the way in, though. It would take more than one big punch to get Saad out of there, because his heart, recuperative powers and stamina were first rate.

I think, though Foster would probably prevail by late rounds TKO in a very tough fight.

Saad beat mostly better guys. Foster has that ATG jab and excellent boxing skills and i just can't see anyone taking too many of Fosters punches even someone as tough and determined as Saad.

True. Saad just didnt get his offense going until the other fighter was arm weary. Not a good formula with Foster. If my some miracle the fight gets into the late going Saad was always remarkable.

Yeah, no matter how strong willed you are, a flesh and blood chin must ultimately give way to the correct amount of punishment

I absolutely worshipped Saad as a kid but as a few others have already stated, Bob Foster was not a guy you wanted hitting you with punches. I reckon Matt was a bit too easy to hit to survive Foster.

Then again I have no doubt who was a tougher guy but toughness alone isnt gunna beat Foster.
