Not a fan of Wilder. [My opinion]

If we're doing the 80s, Wilder's 2-0 against top fives and a series of wins against fringe contenders would put him in the mix with everyone behind Holmes and Tyson.

He's solidly a tier two heavyweight if dropped in any of the more recent eras. Odd as it sounds, if he beats Joshua, he'll likely have secured a spot in the hall of fame.

 

Thats the hilarious thing about wilder.

People froth at the mouth and seeth with anger and hatred toward him trying their best to downplay his skill/resume/etc but if he beat the joshua/parker and unified then added icing to the cake beating a few other names like whyte/pulev/etc...hed easily be a top 10 heavy based on resume alone. Especially if he manages to retire undefeated.

The boxing community would be in an uproar lol.

If he lost to wilder youd just backpeddle and say he was to "green" along with a trillion other excuses.

So ill make a wager with you.

If Hrgovic gets to 20 wins and then challenges wilder for the title (assuming wilder is still champ):

-if he wins, ill post a video of me jacking off to wladmir klitschko.

-if he loses i dont wanna hear nothing from you, no excuses whatsoever, youre banned for a month, and you have to praise wilder in every post for the following month.

 

I don't see many people frothing at the mouth and seething with anger. I see solid well balanced opinions, people that are waiting for him to do all these things you've speculated.

He's beaten two top 10 fighters. That doesn't put him anywhere so far. If he beats Joshua then has say 3/4 defenses vs top 10 guys this wouldn't neccessarily put him "easily" into the top 10 ATG's. Tyson is flat out making most lists and he cut a swathe thru contender after contender with unifications on top.

If he retired undefeated his standing would certainly improve tho, for sure.

The thing is almost all this stuff you are talking about is ahead of him. He's got to get out there and beat Joshua and a handful of top contenders. So far he's beaten two and neither have been close to what Joshua entails.

He could well get belted next fight if it's Joshua. If he does what you put forth we will rate him then. I'm sure the same guys holding back now would be a lot more welcoming as he would then have the achievements to force a lot of reshuffling. At the moment he might not be top 20.

The general forum has plenty of straight up racist and/or wilder haters. Ditto for facebook, youtube, etc. Ive seen some incredibly disgusting comments even after hes won the belt and gotten his impressive win over ortiz.

That said, i do agree his potential fights with joshua/parker/fury/etc wouldnt be easy. Far from it, even miller with his akwardness and size might be able to pull something off, its not written in stone.

And no i dont have him in my top 20 all time either, but h2h he is a scary prospect and if he manages to become the top dog of todays division he definitely belongs in all time legacy discussions.

 

That's respectable, but can I ask you why you're not a fan of the boxer's natural rival? I'm not going to try to change your mind and get you into sluggers, just curious why someone would be a fan of only a certain type of fighter is all.

I think it's great that there's loads of excitement in heavyweight boxing again. I'm excited myself. If Fury comes back it will be even better.

The final 4 is coming down to the final two. Miller and Headvetkin who won't beat any of the 4 imo should fight each other first instead of waiting in line to fight a Wilder or Joshua. They are inferior fighters. Somehow Headvetkin still gets props-I don't know why.

Tyson Fury would make Wilder look stupid he'd play with him. Joshua and Povetkin both knock him out. Hrgovic would beat him right now afer only a few pro fights. Usyk would take him to school. Gassiev would KO him. And Pulev, Kuzmin, Kownacki, Teslenko would all have at least a 40% chance of beating him. Wilder is a manufactured champ joke
