Povetkin deserved his ban. Browne deserved his ban. Fury deserved his ban. Ortiz deserved his ban. Other than the fact you're a Canelo fan, there's no reason to excuse it.

"He never tested positive before" is not an excuse. You don't get a free pass on your first time ffs

Edited to add that obviously we have no way if knowing if it was done intentionally or not (obviously there was issues with this in Mexico some time ago), but ultimately the test came back positive, so action ought to be taken.

When VADA cleared Povetkin, Haymon's WBC would still not allow Povetkin to fight Wilder, he was protected............but VADA showed that El Pollo tested positive and we should forget about it?! Bullcrap! El Pollo has been eating the same meat for years, he just got caught, he is rich, he could have had the best beef in the world! Tainted beef! El Pollo is tainted chicken!

Well he does live in a country that is well known for having contaminated meat that is known to produce positive drug tests. In fact, the NFL warned their players from eating meat while in Mexico so they don't test positive. Surely it's not cheating for a citizen of a country to consume meat that is available locally. (if in fact that is what caused Canelo's positive test)

Never testing positive before isn't an excuse, but rather a statement of fact. Which is pretty amazing considering he lives in a country that has meat sold to its people that is known to the NFL and many others to cause positive drug tests.

Yeah, I've edited my original post since then to add we don't know that it's intentional or anything but a failed test is a failed test at the end of the day

Again, El Pollo has been eating the same meat for years, all of a sudden he tests positive, he is rich, can buy the best meat in the world, he knows about the meat in Mexico! Remember, Trump said that Mexicans are rapists, murders, drug peddlers, etc., perhaps Trump sent him the meat?

Yes but there is however a reason to excuse it, if in fact he didn't cheat and simply ate contaminated meat and through no fault of his own tested positive. Surely there's a difference between actually cheating and eating contaminated meat and unknowingly consuming a banned substance just by eating a normal meal.

There is, of course. But unless he can specifically prove that the two times over 3 days he tested dirty was due to contaminated meat then he has to shoulder the consequences. At this stage the burden of proof lies with Canelo and his team. It's similar to the Fury situation really.

Testicle cancer? Roid Rage? I don't buy it.

alot of people here are terribly uneducated on PEDs but feel the need to post nonsense like this anyway.
Please guys, educate yourself on this subject if you want to join the discussion.
Using words like roids to describe clenbuterol makes you look like a child

Canelo knew what the chef was preparing for him. He knows he went for seconds. Him and Oscar made special order for those high quality tainted meat to be served fresh.
