Yes in order to determine the sanctions, but intentional or unintentional doesn't matter in this case.

Only if someone spiked his steak he could go on without a penalty, which I'm sure even you would find very unlikely..

Robert Garcia made a great point in a YouTube interview on this. He said Canelo is a multi millionaire with a full team that probably includes a nurtionalist- cook who scrutinises everything he eats. He’s probably eating the best imported organic beef not just some average local stuff.

Frankly I don't see why any fighter deserves the benefit of the doubt. Test results are test results, not some guy's opinion. Whether it is tainted meat or not, if you fail a test you need to be punished. Otherwise we are going to get the ridiculous situation where a guy can get off being banned for the simple fact he is Mexican. Where is the fairness in that? Canelo is a rich guy. I am sure he has a nutritionist. If that nutritionist isn't aware of the risk of buying meat in Mexico, then is an idiot. And as the guy that hired him, so is Canelo. The buck stops with the fighter. If Canelo has tested positive, then he needs to be punished.

If you honestly think Clenelo's physique is attainable naturally from a non-aesthetic training program, than you are very much deluded.
He cuts massive amounts of weight yet his muscles seem full and not depleted in the slightest.
The amount he can also bulk and always seems to remain at the top of end of each weight class, miles bigger muscle-wise to any other person also rings alarm bells. The amount of growth on his traps (a non-primary trained muscle for boxers) is beyond ridiculous.
Clenelo will get away with it Scott free, falsified documents will be created and on fight night, he will look bigger/fuller than ever.

the drug he was using was to lose weight so even if he was using this to cheat it wouldn't make him look stronger its to lose weight for the weigh in and ill go on record that i don't think saul is the type to cheat especially when he was the one that wanted the Olympic testing in the first place

Cmon guys. You guys are completely missing the big picture here. Clen helps you make weight, but at what cost? Canelo walks around at a good 175lb now that hes a full middleweight. That he needs clenbuterol to help make 160 tells you what? Hes struggling to make 160 despite his vast resources. Canelo probably owns at least five saunas in each of his houses and he still cant make 160 without extra help. Think about how exhausting and draining the process must be for Canelo. Meanwhile Golovkin is cruising at a svelte 165 with not a care in the world.

Also think about the mental effects it would have on Canelo. Hes the superstar of Mexico, hes pissing blood trying to make 160 and hes under the overwhelming pressure of having to hide his illegal drug use. Its a miracle that Canelo can even get up in the morning, let alone fight p4p fighters. Golovkin can sleep soundly and cut back on the fries and soda for a weigh in and Canelo has to go through life and death to let an arbitrary number appear on a scale. Its unfair, the advantage that Golovkin has, and its another reason for one to look closer at the result of the first fight. Another meaningless outcry from GGG fans about another perceived slight on their fighter, when a careful, thoughtful examination would provoke one to realize it is actually Golovkin who holds more of the advantages.

This is used to cut weight so all those fights Canelo had at 155 must be changed to no contest.
Beefy said Canelo refused drug testing for their fight.

Did you just forget about the 118-110 card for Canelo? Guess you did. That was a perfect example of a judge that wasn’t neutral.

I hear you, but just wanted to address the title.

Unfortunately clenbuterol has some nasty side-effects. Making it legal would effectively force all top boxers to be on this stuff, to their detriment (although I agree that it would level the playing field).
