With the Ortiz victory, does Deontay Wilder already surpass both Klitschko bros on the ATG list?

I don't know, but Wilder isn't worthy of holding his jockstrap.

I think Michael Moorer did at some point which makes this assumption actually accurate.

No, both Klitchos fought vastly better heavyweight opposition than Wilder. While a pudgy, 52 year old Ortiz, with high blood pressure and poor stamina is Wilder's best opponent, he'd have been nothing more than an opponent if he fought during the Klitscho era. Say what you want about Wlad's opposition, but Wilder would already have a few losses if he fought Wlad's resume. The Povetkin that Wlad beat, destroys Wilder. Corrie Sanders, probably puts Wilder's head in the fifth row.

Like he "destroyed" glass chinned Rahman? :nut: :smash2:

The only quality win he has in his entire career is beating Ross Purity's leftovers.

Are we really pretending like part-time golfer Corrie Sanders was a NOT a C-level Heavy and career journeymen? Is this some sorta inside joke on here or something? :watchout:

Are you really pretending like Corrie Sanders wouldn't be Wilder's best opponent?

Ortiz is better than every opponent the Klits have ever faced outside of Lennox & Byrd.

And Byrd is a blown up Middleweight.

So really Lennox is the only opponent either brother ever faced that's as good or better than Ortiz.

So the answer to my question is an emphatic NO.

There's no clear cut and objective reasoning that can place anyone on the Klit brothers resume above Ortiz.

Wilder already has a better win than any of the Klits managed to acheive in their entire career.

    Deal with it.

Doesn't matter. Wilder wouldn't beat either Wlad or Vitali.

Wilder has already beaten tons of Journeymen.

And Sanders would be Wilder's best opponent. That's how bad his resume is.

    Sultan Ibragimov > Luis Ortiz!

    Corrie Sanders > Luis Ortiz!

    Odlanier Solis > Luis Ortiz!

Kubrat Pulev = Luis Ortiz (at the very least)!

Prime David Haye > Old, washed up Luis Ortiz with high blood pressure!

    This isn't even a contest!

Ortiz is good, a top 5 HW right no doubt. I don't think he's done enough with his pro career thus far to be warranted as a better win than say a Povetkin. More to the point, ATG status isn't based on a single win but a career. Although I think the OP knows that.

Also Corrie Sanders was much better than a journeyman, come on. He doesn't have a world beater's resume at all but he was a better fighter than a journeyman.

Has Dino checked into this thread yet? He'll love this.

Couldn't imagine Ortiz going life & death with, and arguably losing to a crude B-level cruiserweight.

Huck would be Ortiz's 3rd best win. Povetkin has a better resume than Ortiz, at the end of the day.

Sultan Ibragimov was absolute garbage who had a glass chin and an even glassier heart. He was terrible for the sport and retired in his prime after stinking up the joint losing to Wlad in the worst HW title farce known to man.

He did nothing against Wlad only flick out a few shots from the outside and Wlad obliged him back by doing nothing himself.
He decision'd a Hloyfield who had already been torn apart and stopped by James Toney. He beat a sick 300 pound Briggs who retired over health concerns immediately after.

Jennings caught Wlad flush with left hooks which was more than Ibragabum ever done. He caused Wlad so much trouble he was forced to hold and lean on for dear life which cost him a point deduction. Wlad was so confused without his holding he ended up punching himself in the face.
When Jennings came into the Ortiz wheelhouse he got flattened. Wladimir Klictschko could not drop or stagger Jennings over 12 round.
