Ya i wish i didn't fall asleep the other night missed watching it live. I gave wilder a ton of flack but he finally has a solid win, fair play. If he keeps fighting good comp he will keep me and the rest of the wilder hate squad of his back. If he goes back to fighting scrubs we will come down on him like a ton of bricks
Weak promotion and weak opponent. He can be entertaining when fighting a worthy opponent, last weekend fight was very entertaining to me. Also fighting more outside of Alabama wouldn’t hurt.
Wilder is hardly known outside North America in reality, he sure isn't a household name in the UK. Wilder has only fought fighters that boxing fans would know. AJ has Wlad on his resume, so despite Wlad being 'mature' in boxing terms he sure as hell is way above Wilders best of Ortiz. Plus as others have highlighted he has not being promoted well. Hence he is not earning the mega purses.
Because boxers don’t get paid per spoken syllable! He is 40 fights in an just taken on his first real fight. He’s good and dangerous but just because he talks a lot doesn’t make what he says true.
ODLH has told Wilder is he wants huge money then give him a call, he knows the potential now, especially after the Ortiz fight. Wilder should be earning more money, not Joshua money, let's be real here, Wilder isn't filling a venue the size of Wembley but he should definitely be earning more. Also the fights he has had have never really inspired interest, they have been poor for a man with that many fights, many people have formed an opinion on Wilder and it will take a lot more than beating an old Ortiz to change it. Right now it can't be denied that Wilder just hasn't got that star quality of a Tyson or Joshua, maybe he should have, he has a great story and when he is sensible and normal he seems like a nice man. Hearn said something a while ago about building a fighters profile and how hard it is if the fighter wasn't built properly from the start, when you don't get people interested and following the fighters journey. So they have missed a trick there and it is going to take a little bit of work to get people spending money and interested now but its very possible. Wilder needs a promoter who knows what he is doing in 2018, a promoter who knows how to use social media, maximise income and generate real interest with the general public.
Wilder was outboxed by Szpilka or Washington, he was completly dominated by Ortiz boxwise and was nearly knocked out, only the ref saved him because other would have been stopped the fight at one moment and give Ortiz the TKO but he had the cheating aspect on his side so lets be real...Wilder is a title holder, yes, but he is no superstar. So he should definitely not the best paid fighter in the world, this is a joke.
Where is the excitement in beating guys no one has heard of? He got plenty of love and money for Stiverne I and Ortiz. Those were step up fights. But it took Wilder 3 years to get from Stiverne to Ortiz. Absolutely ridiculous.

he might get there. but he hasnt had the quality opposition to get there. untill now. he was ready for big fights . an it got delayed cuz of the failed tests. but now hes ready for big fights and if he beats aj he might get up there.
Wilder has been around a decade. If he's not the highest paid fighter it's because he hasn't marketed himself well or more likely he hasn't really fought anyone of note (Ortiz excluded) that would warrant the big bucks. He's on the come up and he had a fan base, but he's not fighting anybody with a fan base. Just for good measure, how long did it take for Olympic Bronze Medalist Riddick Bowe to fight for a title after he turned pro? What about Lennox Lewis? Mike Tyson? Evander Holyfield? I get the strategic patience in waiting for Wladimir Klitschko to either slow down or retire before he steps it up because I can understand why his handlers wouldn't want to risk their golden goose. But if Wilder wanted to get paid more? He should have stepped it up a helluva alot earlier.
