I'll fight Ward right now! But it has to be 50-50!

What do you mean, I can't draw flies to **** and I can't get it?

Yeah, Ward didn't understand it either when GGG was involved.

    Something has to give.

I watched the video you posted. It showed a video of Virgil Hunter (and interestingly somebody else . . .) saying Kessler's trainer couldn't stack Kessler's hand wraps. But is it in the rules that stacking gauze and tape in hand wraps is illegal in California? That's what we're trying to determine, which states this method of hand wrapping is banned in. Virgil Hunter simply saying that Kessler's trainer couldn't wrap Kessler's hands like that in a video doesn't prove that that way of wrapping is illegal in California.

The other part of the video discussed Pacquiao's hand wraps in the Margarito fight, which was in Texas.

Well who's fault is that for not knowing the rules of the State your fighter is fighting in? It sounds like Sanchez didn't know the rules of Nevada, then accussed Chepo of illegally wrapping Canelo's hands, got into an argument with the NSAC officals trying to tell them that it's illegal to stack hand wraps with gauze and tape when it was perfectly legal for him to do so. Apparently Sanchez almost got thrown out of the pre-fight inspection for complaining about something that was within the rules and accused Canelo's team of cheating when they were following the rules since there is no rule prohibiting the "stacking" of hand wraps in Nevada. So regardless of what the rule is in California, since the fight was in Nevada, Sanchez was clearly out of line in accusing Canelo of illegal hand wraps and arguing with the NSAC inspector and complaining about it.

So anotherwords, Sanchez made an ass of himself trying to tell the NSAC inspector what hand wraps are illegal and what aren't but he didn't even know the rules.

It's either illegal or it isn't. If there's not a rule against it, then Sanchez was out of line claiming Canelo's wraps were illegal, getting into it with the NSAC inspector, etc.

There is so much more on Facebook, I read it tonight and posted it after checking to see if it was mentioned on this board, did not see anything about it so I posted a thread about it, then I saw this thread! Whatever, El Pollo tested two times for PEDS, not once, but twice! We all know about the corrupt judges, esp. Bob Bennett's favorite judge Bryd! Oscar will not only stack the wraps, he will stack the judges, referee, boxing commission, hell, it's already been done. I agree with Sanchez about Vegas' bias. Look what happened to Kovalev! Robert Garcia said there was no reason El Pollo should have had tainted meat, he said El Pollo is rich, only eats the best organic mean, only the poor fighters have to eat tainted meat! I think Oscar will have Tony Weeks to referee the fight so El Pollo can land testicle blows like SOB Ward did and Ward got away with it even though there was proof!

Its not illegal, if its legal.... regardless of the general feelings about those type of wraps.

Sanchez is the one claiming that the wraps were illegal. He apparently accused Chepo of illegally wrapping Canelo's hands and then got into an argument with the NSAC inspector over it, nearly getting kicked out of the room.

This method of wrapping a fighter's hands doesn't appear to be banned, doesn't appear to be illegal, at least not in Nevada (is it banned anywhere else?). Sanchez for some reason thought that those hand wraps were illegal. But apparently, he was wrong.

Sanchez knows the rules of boxing, he has been around for years, Margarito knew the rules of boxing also...............didn't he? If it's OK for El Pollo, it's OK for Margarito................

According to Bob Bennett low blows are legal in Vegas also! Watch this proof! You have seen it? Can't dispute this video, yet Bob Bennett refused to even review the damned video! Why do you think there is no instant replay in boxing? Vegas and Texas are both corrupt, don't box there unless you have connections with the officials................

tell me those are not low blows! I dare you! OK, let's also say that Margarito's wraps were legal as well, hell, El Pollo will come into the ring with horse shoes in his gloves, those are legal also. Plan A cheating, plan B cheating, don't forget low blows are legal in Vegas also, headbuts, holding, wrestling, elbows, all are legal if you are Ward or Alvarez.................

The thing is, most trainers will tell you that it IS illegal. Which is why Kessler wasn't allowed to do that in California despite there not being a rule that explicitly states that you can't. This whole time I thought there was a rule that mentioned this in particular, but there isn't one. There are few rules like this in sports.

In boxing it states that your gloves cannot be manipulated or altered in any way and they must be new. However, it isn't uncommon for a boxer to break in their gloves by punching a surface to basically crush the padding down so their punches have more force. This sounds like manipulating the glove or altering it but this is allowed.

Here is the full video, Kessler was forced to get his hand rewrapped. If I'm wrong in thinking that Hunter and the official deemed it illegal making it a case for it being illegal in California, alright.

There are a few rules that aren't really rules? What other rules that aren't rules are there?

It seems like a lot of people think a lot of things. But then when pressed on it, it turns out what they thought was wrong. Now I'm wondering if Kessler was prevented from having his normal legal wraps because Virgil Hunter thought something was illegal which really wasn't, or maybe it was just that Hunter simply didn't want Kessler to have his hands wrapped a certain way, Kessler's normal way. This all is very interesting isn't it, it seems that this whole "you can't stack" theory may be some kind of unwritten rule that some trainers believe and try to enforce on other fighters, yet isn't actually illegal.

What does this have to do with staking handwraps and whether or not that is illegal?

Wow, that is nuts ! So Hunter made Kessler re-wrap because he decided Kessler couldn't have his hands wrapped that way? But it wasn't actually a rule? Hunter just "said so" ? ? If that's true, that's sounds pretty scandalous. Am I missing something? Also, who was that guy that backed up Virgil. Didn't look like a CSAC inspector.

Masterful performance by Andre Ward. He really took Kessler to school. All said and done Ward we have to agree Ward faced and defeated a murderers list of opponents.

I think it's odd that Abel Sanchez is accusing Chepo Reynoso of illegally wrapping Canelo's hands. I also think it's odd that Abel Sanchez apparently got into an argument with a NSAC inspector over whether Canelo's hand wraps were illegal or not, claiming that they were, to which the NSAC responded by informing him that they weren't, to where he was complaining about it so much, he almost got kicked out of the room. And the whole time, he was wrong about the wraps being illegal and completely out of line in complaining and carrying on about it.

Please ask your friend about it, I really want to hear more about this whole "you can't stack" theory and if it's actually illegal. Hopefully we get an apology from Sanchez for accusing Chepo and Canelo of cheating and arguing with the NSAC official about it before the fight.

It's outrageous for trainers to be trying to gain a competitive advantage by telling their opponents how to wrap hands if there's no rule about it.
