See Hearn has made Josh Kelly v Carlos Molina in only Kelly's 5 fight. What's peoples thoughts? It's on AJ v Parker bill.
6th fight for Kelly. A guy who has never been stopped, who has has controversial decisions go against him in the past. Awkward fighter who will be there the whole fight. Could be a banana peel.
Never seen Molina fight but goin off Twitter and social media looks to be a very good step up? Hopefully see some of the questions about Kelly get answered.really looking forward to this actually.
Just going to say Hold on a minute Carlos Molina or khans opponent from previous When that fight after the loss got announced I that wow that's guts Then I'm found the latter Screamed easy money
Is there any chance that Khan is being fattened up to potentially be fed to Kelly at some point down the line? Or is Khan's end game to secure one mega payday against a "big name"?
It's possible but I think Matchroom see Kelly as a potential ppv fighter so are investing to try and speed the process up. Especially as they have 3 ppv fighters AJ standalone and Brook and Bellew if the latter two are in the right fights. Now Brook is 31 nearly 32 and Bellew 35 so Matchroom need two younger fighters to be ppv ready inside next 18-24 months to make sure there is no ppv void. I think Kelly and Buatsi have been earmarked as those two future ppv fighters.
It’s a great step up. I hope he answers a few questions that are currently being asked of him. He’s got a superb fan friendly style and can be a genuine superstar.
I think it's a great step up, very good learning fight. Molina is coming off back to back losses, has no real power but is durable and experienced. Matchroom obviously think the world of him so giving him the push. I follow all the UK talent, and regardless of how far they go it's always interesting to see how many of you're top picks etc make it to the highest level or a British Title and there are loads of interesting prospects just now. Josh Kelly. I'm not buying in to the superstar talk yet. I remember David Barnes at 140 all too well, speed, reflexes and those shorts that Hamed/Rhodes used to wear. Good fighter Barnes but some saw him as special. I'm interested in what happens when someone pushes Kelly back, can he fight on the inside? I've not been blown away so far & when you debate about Kelly with fans you get the generic answers. Have you not seen that head movement, the reflexes and how keeps his hands so low & still doesn't get hit? Yeah, that's not going to be enough to win major titles, not even close. What else does he really have in his locker? I guess with the way they are moving him we will find out soon but I'm not even remotely convinced he a world champ in waiting. And again fans get defensive, he doesn't need to be to be liked or a good fighter. Of course not but when the Boxing fraternity hails you as a genius, British Lomachenko, superstar etc that is what I hold you're potential too, and I don't see it. We'll see though.
Molina went 0-2 last year but prior to that he was mostly just operating (successfully) on the Mexican domestic scene. I don't think he's dangerous to Kelly but it could be a very frustrating night for him. Really nice step-up for his 6th fight, more of this please.
When I say superstar I mean he’s going to be packing out arenas, on PPV and in great fights. As I said his style is ultra fan friendly. In regards to world championships though he’s going to have to be special. Errol Spence can and will clean up that division unless he moves up before Kelly advances that far. Thurman, Porter, Vargas, Garcia plus eddies new Kazakh, its a stacked division with not only top talent but top potential.
