Team Ortiz calls cheating in the 8th round

Seem to remember Charles Martin being given over ten seconds in his fight with AJ.

 

I would totally watch a rematch!!!

What a great fight!!

 

He deserves a rematch. A ****ing bermane got a rematch ffs.

 

Why didn't he come in 15 lbs lighter into the fight that fat, lazy Cuban? If he had just dieted and trained a bit more seriously he wouldn't have gassed out and could have finished the job in the mid-rounds.

 

To be fair he has a bad heart in general and the fight was almost cancelled due to his sky high blood pressure.
Its questionable how fit he could even get given his heart problems

 

Yeah i doubt it will happen, i would watch it if it did, kinda like when Wlad was thinking of rematching AJ. Two great fights overall.

 

I'm surprised Ortiz or his team haven't called out the judges who all had Wilder ahead lol. If Ortiz knocked Wilder out, they would have called it a draw.

 

As Saintpat stated, no rules have been broken here. You can make the argument of "Well, why didn't Ortiz get checked on after the KD" and that's a legitimate gripe but there's no wrong doing here.

 

Nah, don't misunderstand me, it looked off.. I was shouting at my TV (well muttering loudly, everybody was sleeping) when the referee called the Dr over but Ortiz blew it.

Ortiz for all his supposed experience didn't finish the job, he can't start crying about it now.

But if Joshua gets past Parker and AJ Vs Wilder doesn't happen next then I'd like to see a rematch between Wilder and Ortiz, it was a good fight, entertaining and there were and still are talking points.

 

Next time no fans turn up to gate and no one watch
They would soon listen but in order to do this you need to be a man of you're word and also have a back bone in place

 

Only wrong doing was the cards. How those judges all three had wilder up is shameful

 

I don't use PPV because I noticed gross referee interference. If the ref is going to be part of the crucial action then they should advertise it as such. Ortiz vs Wilder and Ref so-and-so.

 

He got KTFO.. He couldve said someting about the judges but still doesnt change the outcome since the fight didnt get to the scorecards which were in fact very bad.

The only way Ortiz could have won the fight was going into the ring with a sledgehammer. Even then the ref might have paused the action, taken the sledge hammer from Ortiz, given it to Wilder so Wilder could brain him with it.
One wonders whether there is politics involved in this as well. A Cuban HW champ would cause joy in communist Cuba and the USA certainly doesn't want a joyous communist nation so close to its shores. Sadness yes. Joyfulness? No!
