I used to think that Joshua's only hope against Wilder was to impose his 260 lb frame on Wilder. However, I have studied a lot of footage of wilder and he is much stronger than he looks.

I think Wilder is country strong while Joshua is gym strong - Wilder growing up in rural Alabama and Joshua in Londons concrete Jungle supports this Hypothesis.

Some things that prove Wilders strength. Note this list is not exhaustive:

    1) Manhandles a 245+ lb Luis Ortiz throught the fight. When Ortiz hurt Wilder, Wilder grabbed on and was able to hold on even in a weakend state. The opposite happened when Wilder hurt Ortiz. Ortiz tried to hold Wilder but 214 lb Wilder was too strong and easily tossed him on the ground.

    2) Wilder nearly knocked out Ortiz by punching him in the forehead. Most fighters hurt and even break their hands after punching an oponents head (see Floyd). Let alone Ortiz's massive Cinder block shaped head supported by 245+ lbs of body weight. Yet Wilder punched through him and put him in lala land.

    3) Wilder consistently punched through oponents Guards. He did this with Bermain Stevern in their first and second fight, and also to Ortiz who had his guard up for some of the knockdowns he suffered. If you have ever sparred, this takes real strength. Its like one of those video games we played as kids when you hold down square to charge your punch for that move called "GUARD BREEAKERR!".

    3) In Wilder vs Stevern 2. Wilder used the referee as a cape. That referee is an average sized man and probably weighs atleast 180 lb. Yet to Wilder he felt like a piece of cloth.

    4) Wilder vs Washington. Gerald Washington is a big strong 6 ft 5 in ex-football player and in their fight he put Wilder in a headlock and tried to lean on him the way Wladimir Klitschko bullied Povetkin, only to be lifted off his feet.

    5) Wilder vs Charlie Zelenoff. Why you might wonder? Well a guy who looks average sized kept trying to hold back Wilder but again Wilder uses him as a cape and picks him up like you would a mobile phone. Compare this to when Shannon Briggs stormed Wladimirs training camp and was held back somewhat by a similar average sized guy.

As far as I'm concerned this revelation is very bad for Joshua because I know he plans on coming in leaner when he inevitably faces Wilder. If Wilder is already stronger than Joshua at 260 lbs then below 245 lbs, Joshua will have even less of a chance in that fight since he gets a lot of his confidence from his size. As soon as he realises Wilder is better in the one area he believes himself to be without equal, he will capitulate.

A.J is on enough peds to kill a horse. He's much stronger physically. In the weight room A.J would smoke Wilder but that doesn't matter. Wilder is more explosive and might puncher harder though.

I have to give Wilder credit that hes probably one of the only Heavyweights that is clean.

Wilder has that country Alabama, natural, raw strength, passed down to him through the bloodline. He is a natural specimen.

AJ has that unnatural strength, propped up artificially by synthetic hormones. His body is as fake as his persona.

I will thoroughly enjoy Wilder violently KO Joshua.

Getting fed up of all these Wilder threads.

He has great power, we know that.

But he also has amateurish technique and defence.

One means he could win ANY fight, the other means he could also lose ANY.

Your wrong that Joshua is stronger than Wilder. And your example with the weight room is why I said gym strong. Besides I dont see Joshua beating Wilder in the weight room even though thats not Wilders speciality.

Wilder has functional strength. Trust me, its why I said he is country strong. Its like how some young guys who lift weights all day and have huge biceps will still loose an arm wrestling match to their dad who worked on farms growing up. Another guy who would have functional strength is Joe Smith Jr

Strength don't always correlate to size. Deontays special, all 215lbs of him. That's something that bodybuilder Joshua will soon find out!

"Wilder is physically stronger than Anthony Joshua"

this just means that he would make a better removal man than AJ and who wants to do that job

Don't be silly, AJ is the most physical fighter of all the heavyweights. Do you really think that Wilder is going to bully AJ and win clinches and win the fight up close? I mean come on...

AJ is a physical specimen, a machine. If Wilder dares to go up close to him, he's getting torn apart by combinations.

He is far more physically imposing than Luis Ortiz. I can't imagine a Wilder punch wobbling Joshua. Let's remember, Klitschko never wobbled Joshua, his feet were never unsteady. He hurt Joshua but he was never on unsteady feet at any point, even after the knockdown. AJ won't be as wobbly as Ortiz, that's for sure. Ortiz' proper real weight was clearly not 240, in his early days he was probably similar to the numbers Wilder is pulling out.

At 240, Ortiz is no Joshua when it comes to the physical strength side of things. It's just a load of fat on there with Ortiz. With Joshua it's just pure muscle and fitness and strength.

Also, when you're the taller guy, you can control your opponent, provided they don't have that much strength. He ain't manhandling Joshua.

I will admit the way Wilder effortlessly tossed Ortiz to the ground in round ten was a surprise. Maybe Ortiz was a bit off balance, but that's still 250 lbs he threw down with one arm. Wilder's way stronger than he looks.
