Has there been any update on Rigondeaux since his last fight? I feel like I'm one of the few people that still wants to see Rigo fight at least a few more times to shake off that embarrassing loss. I would like to see Rigo finally get in the ring with guys like Frampton, Cruz, Valdez, Quigg, etc. before retiring for good. I still think he has the ability to beat any of those guys.

Anyone else want to see Rigo fight in the ring again?

Of course I’d like to see him again. He moved up two weight classes and got destroyed but he could still be untouchable at Super Bantam IMO

I certainly don't want to see him leave the sport at a very low point in his career. Had a very promising start, was seen as one of the elite fighters for a brief moment, and has since made bad career choices. I think it's f#cked up how the boxing business has been treating him over these years and that's why I really want to see him bounce back. The only question now is if he still has the heart and desire to fight again. We shall see...

I'd like to see Rigondeaux vs Russell Jr- battle of the inferior to Loma losers. @TheAkbarOne would love that match

Yeah, I still think it's bogus how the rest of 122 successfully avoided him. Even if he comes back at 126, I'd like to see him get a chance to redeem himself and retire on a happier note.

The ray of sunshine for Rigo was Roc overspending to acquire him, which should leave him set for life. That said, I'd hate to see a lifetime of work end up with the Loma debacle as his last fight.

I'd love to see Rigo come back and take out a contender who comes in overconfident because of what Loma could do to him.

Well… what can I say? :ohno
I’ve been constantly giving Rigo the benefit of the doubt and also appreciation over the years but that horrible display that he performed against Casimero was not only insulting to the sweet science it was a black mark. He had every opportunity to put on a masterful performance and there were so many openings he could have taken advantage of over an average fighter like Casimero but he chose to constantly run like a petrified fighter. I have never seen a fighter that constantly REFUSES to engage.

I’m sorry to say this but as much as I admire his skills and overall talents he is without a doubt one of the biggest wasted fighter in boxing and he only has himself to blame. Now that he’s approaching 41 nobody is gonna want to watch him, nobody would want any desire to fight him, he doesn’t bring anything to the table, and no other top promoter would ever want to broadcast his fights after constantly giving him chances.

I just don’t understand why Rigo doesn’t give AF. He has not done himself any favors whatsoever ever since he beat Donaire and he will never change. Hope he enjoys that L and retires from the sport for good.

The vast majority does not. Good luck to any promotor or major network trying to sell his next fight.

Thread title "Aged Like Milk" ;)

OP was too generous to Rigo when he made this thread.
