So which Balla conqueror is more promising, Tabanao or Rosales?

Tabanao definitely. Rosales’ only defeat was a knockout loss to Jhonny Gonzalez and there’s no shame in that, but if Balla had any sort of chin, I think Rosales would’ve been the one flat on the canvas. He gets hit far too cleanly and stays too much in the pocket for a guy who’s better served fighting from distance.

Tabanao has the chin and power to put up a game fight against anyone. He put up a very spirited effort against Dogboe. Made the fight messy and sloppy. Made it very hard for a guy who’s now on the brink of becoming a world champion. The fight was much closer than the scorecards suggested and you could argue that Dogboe suffered a knockdown at least once (from the ‘meh’ feed I was watching it from).

This is nothing new the level of boxing in Australia specially in lower weights is rather poor. I mean quality of boxers here is terrible specially in the lower weight classes. The best boxers they have are usually the imported variety but there are now good locally grown boxers but are still untested in the international scene.

But Filipino beating Aussies in these lower weights is bleh. Like i said it's harder to win in Mexico and Russia. Because there are monsters there in these lower weights. Winning in Mexico and Russia will really raise my eyebrow.

I have even seen Filipino with terrible records come here in Sydney or Brisbane and other cities and still be competitive and even win some. Most are even force to move up in weights. Like a featherweight fight at light welter or something and still be competitive.

The Moloney Brothers look promising at least, especially Andrew.

Marlon Tapales fights on Saturday, in Australia (speak of the devil), in a 10-rounder against 36-24-6 (14) Rivo "El Matador" Rengkung of Indonesia.

I was going to ask why he was taking a tuneup instead of making a title defense, hadn't realized he was stripped for not making weight for the Omori rematch. His belt now belongs to Zolani Tete, with Omar Andrés Narváez about to challenge for it. Meanwhile the Maranding Nightmare is relegated to BS matches down under without having ever lost his title in the ring. Guess he just can't make bantam anymore? The fight with Rengkung is scheduled @ 122lbs.

Tapales was actually in talks to face Juarez for the Interim WBO Title at 122 in late 2017 to replace the scrapped Magdaleno fight (who got injured prior to his defense against Juarez). Tapales’ team wanted to postpone it for like a month because they wanted proper training to fight Juarez and to make the weight limit but Juarez ‘s team refused and chose to fight Dogboe in Africa instead. That didn’t turn out very well. Can’t wait to see Tapales back in the world title mix at 122. Dude is an exciting, skilled fighter with a lot of heart.

How much of a chance does Baldonado have of popping Tanaka's cherry?

I like Baldonado a lot but he has his hands down in plenty of occasions and that’s not something he should be doing with somebody like Tanaka. Baldonado also throws loads of punches. Not sure if he could keep that up against someone like Tanaka who just wears his opponents down. Should be fun though.

It could be argued that it was a shutout, the few rounds Young won, its because he actually threw a few punches, and IMO he only tightened them up, but didn't do enough to edge them.
