Another point to factor in is that any names put forward would also be negotiating every other opponent on Ali's resume which would effect the wear & tear they may suffer.

Holmes would absolutely be in 2 wars with Norton before even facing a prime Foreman. After that he has to face Manilla Frazier....and the heat.
Looking at it like that, i am not too sold on Larry's chances, great as he was.

Joe Louis and Mike Tyson. I certainly think those guys could do it. Evander Holyfield has a pretty good chance as does Ezzard Charles (criminally underrated heavyweight). Funny how every heavyweight I think could beat Liston and Foreman, Frazier is their biggest threat.

Evander Holyfield could. His epic 15 round win over Qawi in 1986 and his TKO of Tyson in 1997 were 11 years apart. Or purely as a heavyweight there’s 11 years between Holyfield’s TKO of Pinklon Thomas and the ‘draw’ with Lennox Lewis.

Holmes I think could beat liston and foreman maybe, but would lose to Frazier.

Someone also said joe louis and think if God have him a better chin he could.

    Lennox was also too chinny

The only one I can think of that could mimic the Ali here is holyfield, he was capable of boxing and moving away from huge punchers like foreman and Liston and had the chin to take a huge shot if they did land and could awnsers Frazier with fast hard counter punches

    Perhaps Louis.

Hard to imagine anybody else having the consistency.

Hard to believe Louis having the chin.

That depends how good you think Louis's chin was.

I think it better than given credit for!

I think that it was not that bad but neither that good like you think. If guys like bradock, buddy, galento, walcott or schmeling could hurt louis and drop him then definitely foreman and liston could finish the job early

    It doesn't work like that.

Getting dropped by a good puncher, doesn't mean that a great puncher will walk through you.

Look at some of the guys who dropped Ali for example.
