I'd think too, but wouldn't a positive VADA test (an American, credited anti-doping agency) force their hands? What's the point of VADA otherwise?

Team GGG is in a lose-lose situation, again. Gennady already lost millions by not entering this fight as the rightful winner of the first, and now his choice is either take the B-side and fight a juiced up Mexican cheat (and Oscar's judges plus suspect hand-wraps), or sue and probably not see a dime.

At the minimum he should be compensated with $5Mil for entering a dangerous, evenly matched fight against a drug cheat, but really, all rules should be off and he should do A-side meth.

That wasn't VADA. No organization is supposed to EVER give the excuse as they deliver the failed results.

YOU ALL ARE BEING played by GBP. That statement regarding the tainted meat was by another company altogether. Read the damn statement clearly and you will see. GBP cut a bunch of statements together to give it an air of authority but its pure BS.

Are you pretending Canelo's TRAINER, Chepo Reynoso, who used to be a butcher and in the meat business in Mexico and didn't know of these risks?

Even after other fighters have used this meat contamination excuse after testing positive for a banned substance.

Surely as a trainer and an ex butcher in Mexico he would have known of this HUGE PROBLEM everybody connected with Canelo wants to now highlight and make sure to eliminate these risks.

It's so blatant, nobody with half a brain cell can believe the Team Canelo excuses.. well except people like you.

The former director of KAZADA (from 2008-2014) Dr. Talgat Kholmatzhonov said that Clenela would have had to have consumed a cow the size of an African elephant that was pumped to the brim with Clenbuterol for him to pop dirty for the amount he did.

If I was a boxing trainer and just happened to be an ex butcher involved in the meant business in Mexico then I think I'd advise my fighter not to take any risks and eat potentially contaminated meat.

I could slightly understand (still no excuse) if Canelo was a minimumweight on a few thousand dollars a fight and they couldn't really afford to have meat flown in.

They talk like Canelo can't afford to have organic food flown out to him and he will eat any old rubbish they serve up.

The worst thing about this is Canelo Fanboys buying it, peddling the PR and not even questioning it, they are just pointing at cows and mooing like a group of people with special needs on a day out at a farm.

They should be testing any and all meat they have in their possession. Of course that makes too much sense, so likely won't happen.

What research was done? It's very possible the amounts were "consistent w/ contaminated meat", but you know what else they are "consistent" with, PED usage.

Just because there's a viable built-in excuse to use doesn't mean they disregard any actual investigation in to this.

well said. Basically a few brown bags exchanged seems to be the difference between having an investigation and going "meh"

He doesn't really believe it. He's just trying to spin it to defend his sporting hero. Weird.

And I always knew Wiggins was a cheat. I was amazed anyone bought into his crippling asthma excuse. British cycling's golden era was as dirty as the recent 'golden' Jamaican sprint team IMO.

Of course they knew the risks, don't be ridiculous, they probably never thought it would happen to them though.

Even if they did use purposely, why do it 2 months before the fight? What benefits does taking clenbuterol 2 months before the fight have?

Why isn't anyone asking for Canelo to be suspended for at least long enough for the "drug" to clear his system? Surely if it gives Canelo an advantage then why doesn't GGG's camp change the fight to September 16th weekend, and in the mean time GGG can call BJSaunders' bluff and fight him instead.

I see a lot of fans screaming foul but no one, including GGG, Loud mouthed Abel, and Loeffler are doing anything to supposedly have a level playing field.

Perhaps, maybe, GGG fans are overreacting as usual.
