If Mikey vacates WBC title, then he’s ducking Loma

I like Mikey and I think he out off all the guys under 147 has the best shot of beating Lomachenko. However it doesn’t make sense for him to stay at 140 when the winner of Loma vs Linares is his mandatory.

If Lomachenko wins then Mikey can get that fight ordered by the WBC, vice versa. If he vacates that WBC 135 title it’s a duck, no other way to see it for me

Even if Mikey is ducking Loma, I'm almost sure he genuinely believes he doesn't.

 

Not really because he will probably have to drop the IBF 140 belt if he wants to keep the 135 WBC. So he has to drop a belt anyway, either way it's not ducking.

 

Can you add a third option? Something like "I'm not sure" or "It's hard to answer".

 

Yeah but I would rather see Mikey vs Loma/Linares than Mikey vs Barayanchuk (whatever his name is). This guy has said he wants this fight so now it’s closer I want him to stay and pursue it.

He genuinely doesn’t? By shook I don’t mean he has nightmares of Loma, I just mean he is doesn’t want that fight.

 

If Garcia keeps the IBF belt he has to face the Baranchyk who is just a prospect and a nobody compared to Lomachenko. You think that is not ducking if someone faces the much lesser opponent?

 

He should fight the winner of Lomachenko v Linares, especially as if I'm correct in thinking Lomachenko does a number on Linares, Garcia v Lomachenko is a super fight......and not only that it is a true career defining fight.

 

Me too, obviously. As well as even his fans, most probably! By the way, Mikey should be quite shocked now (that Loma-Linares fight did materialized) because it was obvious he didn't believe it would ever happen and Loma would just fight Beltran. That would've been quite a comfortable situation for Garcia ("oh, they are so weak, ... Bob would never allow... blah, blah...") to stay at 140. But now it's all turned upside down and Garcia is in a quite tricky situation.

 

Your right, I didn’t think Mikey was ducking I believed when he said Bob would block the fight. However if Loma wins that diamond belt and Mikey keeps his WBC belt we have situation where whoever vacates is the one who doesn’t want to make the fight.

 

This is all assuming Loma beats Linares of course which is not a certainty.

 

Mikey has already made dozens of statements showing his intent to duck Loma.

 

If they fight — Mikey is the “A” side. And the fight is at 140. Limo gets KTFO.
