Well like many have learned over the years lifting ain't fighting I had a friend who was a 2 time state wrestling champion at 189lbs and nationally ranked as he got older he weighed around 275 after college and getting into his 20's or so as a college wrestling coach he could throw the big boys around with gut wrenches and high crotches all day long but could barely bench his body weight at 180-190 I was stronger than him lifting weights but in wrestling he was far more powerful than I was.

Weightlifting strength and work strength are 2 different things.
I ran a Jack Hammer for over 12 yrs 60 ang 90 lb but was regularly outlifted by my boys in the gym back a ways. So like Rich said about his wrestling friend its a different kind of strength

i agree with your post. I think that Ali would do horrible in the part of weight lifting and would Great running, foreman however on the contrary.
Is very curious because norton was a big fan of the bodybuilding and he did great in weight lifting(he was cheering up lou ferigno on another superstars show) but he had nothing to do with foreman in the strength department ,george said that he never touched a weight in his first career

Frazier wasnt fat but he quite a bit more bodyfat than any olympic swimmer. Plemty of very lean and in shape people swim well. So i dont think that is a factor in his swimming ability at all.

Under 3% bodyfat for long will see you start to develop significant problems and kill you i believe. In contests i'm pretty sure 8 time Mr Olympia Ronnie Coleman ran on about 4%. We've seen how absurdly ripped he was. Joe might not even be under 10% in that contest.

Does anybody knows what the hell did happen to joe with the bike? He was first with a huge diference(it proved the power of his huge legs) and then he looked like if he had problems and ended the 4

He would be 6 feet under if it was. Elite male marathoners (who themselves are flirting with disaster) seldom get into the 5% range.

There is only one kind of strength - ability to exert force on external object.
If you put big numbers in the gym you are strong, period.
I don't think any boxer would have put some decent numbers in that time.

Boxing community was against weight lifting, and natural baseline strength can only take you so far.
Strong boxers like Foreman and Tyson were strong because of mother nature, not because their boxing routine.
If they trained for strength - lifting weights, they would have been stronger obviously.

Its`s a warriors game and Joe was a pure warrior. I doubt he could even ride a bike.

Frazier seemed to carry a good bit of his power from his legs.

I'd say Ali and Foreman would be shockingly good, brute strength George and Ali as pretty as he looked was as strong as any heavy at that time and before. My heart sinks for Frazier here. Heavyweight champ of the world should be doing better than that
