anything beforehand means team joshua are not showing the threat parker brings and not showing parker any respect.

parker is not a gimmee gight where you can already make plans for the next opponent.

 

Joshua stated Wilder can come in the ring as long as he's serious about the fight what didn't you comprehend ?

Wilder did this with Fury to bump his own popularity up even though Tyson had a rematch clause with Klitchko !

Do you really think Joshua owes this guy more exposure, the guy that's been piggy backing on his name for 2 years now?

Alternatively he see's no point in pushing something that doesn't exist yet. Unless and until Wilder and his team agree terms with AJ and Hearn there's nothing to hype. For AJ at least there's little to no incentive to talk about it. Wilder is just one more fight amongst many lucrative options, albeit he has a belt AJ needs for undisputed status. Be clear on this, AJ can fight Povetkin in a massive European fight, he can fight Miller in NY and do bigger numbers than Wilder managed in his own country, he can fight domestic fighters like Haye, Bellew or Whyte in front of sold out crowds of 80-90k and he could break all his own revenue records in an eventual clash with Fury. AJ has options.

Wilder and Joshua are both Heavyweight Champions and the two biggest names in the division, but there the similarity ends. AJ sells out stadia, has multiple lucrative sponsors and is quietly going about building an empire. He gets press attention whenever and wherever he wants as befits a sporting superstar currently pursuing the third major belt on his unification journey. He's big news and at this stage he can fight anyone he chooses and still make ten times the highest return Wilder could bank.

Wilder on the other hand is five years older and has spent years being carefully protected from any credible threat in the ring. He has consequently made little impression on the imagination of the US sports fan and as boxing has declined in the US he's struggled to break through to the big time and the big bucks that would follow. There is only one fight on the horizon that could deliver a big return and at present he doesn't have the numbers or the profile to act as leverage in that negotiation. He doesn't have many cards to play or options to take. He has however found that mentioning AJ gives him far greater exposure as news organisations know that AJ stories deliver valuable clicks or sales.

Knowing this we can begin to understand the tide of utter ***** that comes forth from Deontay's mouth every time a camera or recorder is nearby. Wilder is playing to the idiot masses. Most people with any grey matter who follow boxing dismiss this as the unmitigated ***** that it undoubtedly is.
